Tank missions vs AI

Hello,

 

Not so long ago I downloaded a file in which I found some tank missions, enabling me  to drive and fight the Pzkw III and the T-34. Once placed in Data/Missions, they worked perfectly.

Since the latest game update however... they don't open any more. The Panzer Marsch missions, after installing some patch or fix work fine.

Can anyone tell me why the simple Tank Missions don't work anymore?

Because the last patch change in .msnbin file format.

 

Look at mission folder, if this particular mission have the files "tanksomething.mission" and  "tanksomething.msnbin" rename or delete the .msnbin.

 

The mission should open using the .mission file - but take a bit more of time to load.

 

To speed the mission loading process you can open the .mission file in Mission Editor and save, this create a new .msnbin in the new format.

Never used the Mission Editor before. How to start this? 

Can it be downloaded?

Don' bother Sokol1. Found it! I am going to experiment with the Tank missions.

All you need to do is open the Missions folder, find the .msnbin files and delete them. The missions will then work as before.

I speak not as a great tank mission fan, and these where an added bonus to this brilliant flight sim, but now they are unavailable because of the latest patch download, and to get them up and running again the player has to hunt through files to change or delete !

 

Surely this is an issue that the developers should rectify, although the patches are an ongoing feature of BoS they do sometimes bring with them unforeseen problems.

The .msnbin "issue" is not with tanks, but due changes in game code. The mission makers know how "fix" this.

I agree there are players who can change game modes, but there are many who don't know how too, these game patches should only improve what we already experience, not having to seek advice on this forum on how to solve patch faults!
