GrendelsDad Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 What is the button limits for a single controller in this game? Looking at getting one with 48 functions? Thanks.
Sokol1 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) Are a limit in Windows Direct Input* - and thus in games, is: 8 axis 32 buttons 1 HAT/POV (8 ways) But this don't prevent you use a controller with more than 32 buttons, in this case is need a key mapper for translate the buttons above #32 in key press. * Seems that new DIrectX improve this limit, dont know in practice. Besides this some games see only one controller (joystick, gamepad, etc) others 4 (IL-2'46), 9/10 (CloD), dont know BoS limit. Edited February 23, 2016 by Sokol1

I have now 6 different controllers and they work good all together in this game: 1) Baur KG13 Grip 2) Slaw Device Bf 109 Rudder Pedals 3) Saitek Pro Flight Yoke + throttle quadrant 4) Saitek X35T (throttle) and X36F (modded as button box) 5) VKB Cobra M5 (modded as button box and trims) 6) Wing Man Strike Force 3D (modded as button box) I am now building a totally new throttle and button console which "brain" is a new MJoy16 ver.2.0 USB-interface: Number of analogue inputs (axis) 8 Number of push buttons: 64 Number of toggle switches: 16 Toggle switch action: Double Number of rotary switches: 4 Number of 8-way hat switches: 1 How I can map those "over 32" buttons and toggle switches to key commands with the SVMapper (for ex.) so that this game understand them? Can somebody show me how to do it with an example pictures, please! Edited November 13, 2016 by LLv32_Kanttori

Recently I see in Russian forum that BoS use new DImput dll and recognize up to 64 buttons (the new DImput limit is more, don't know what, DCSW see 128). I test with 48 without need use keymapper (e.g. Joy2Key) with MJoy16. In this case you will need SVMapper for buttons above 64. Practical example of SVMapper use, you make the buttons not seem by Windows send keystrokes. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/20963-svmapper/?hl=%2Bsvmapper&do=findComment&comment=356951
LLv44_Kanttori Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Thank you for your info Sokol1!I am just testing the SVMapper and it works good with the key commands as you just wrote! I have now buttons 65 and 73 under test and it seems that I can map all the buttons up to 96 as key commands! So the problem is solved!
