MumuKiller Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) Hey) I'm sure many have estimated flight sensations, feelings of romance: fly:. Oh, these kites, uh, these fights on the network by "concepts", oh the sound of breaking wood ... mmmmm. And if you want to buy new game ROF with aircraft and new graphics etc etc....? I will buy. Virus* Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Dx12 for il2 please...at least dx11...with my gtx 980ti i cannot go past 1080p while in DCS i have 60fps (vsync on) at 1440p
Dakpilot Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Pointless spending money on re-write for DX11, when DX12 is going to be 'current' tech soon, any update to BoS/BoM engine should also work with RoF digital Nature engine...but can only begin to imagine the amount of work involved However seems to be the most needed priority as far as performance is concerned, how long was DX11 for DCS in developement? Cheers Dakpilot 1
HippyDruid Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 For a moment there I was really excited. RoF2 would be splendid! Damn click-bait title!
Feathered_IV Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 I dream of an RoF that has AI which can do more than only turn left in combat. 3
Saurer Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Or a new engine and combining il2 and ROF in one client
wombatBritishBulldogs Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Regarding DX11 and 64 based flight simulator not 32 might be worth a look for those interested.
Ace_Pilto Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 No. What's the point of making it prettier when nobody plays online and the SP sucks because of the "one size fits all" AI? 1
BeastyBaiter Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) I'm not currently playing RoF but I could definitely be brought back if the core program were brought up to modern specs (64bit, DX12, 4k+ textures instead of 512 and so on). I'd go for it either as an entirely new product or as an addon. I'd also be willing to repurchase aircraft/maps if they were brought up to modern graphics standards. I don't think any major changes to the physics, damage modeling, AI or beta campaign are needed. I was always very happy with them and nothing since has surpassed them. 6./ZG26_5tuka Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) Regarding DX11 and 64 based flight simulator not 32 might be worth a look for those interested. Although offtopic, I'd only be interested in this if it feautured more sufusticated FMs than FSX. Enjoyed FS2004 and X as a rooky but as time went on and better sims + real flying came together it became very apparent it can't recreate the imersion of real flight...at least to me. Engine upgrade sounds promising though. On topic: I'd support a sucessor given it would utilize a new engine (not like BoS/BoM current iteration of the RoF engine), means with 64bit / DX11, not just some graphical touchups. Else I'd stick to RoF as it is still a pretty solid and unique sim. Edited February 23, 2016 by Stab/JG26_5tuka
