J4SCrisZeri Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Is it just me or plane crashes on ground still need some fix? They hit the ground, sometimes have a little bounce, a short time lapse, and THEN they explode. Its like a stutter between impact and explosion. Happening ns to me only, or did you guys notice it?
LordNeuro*Srb* Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 I noticed to. I think the crash on the ground is not yet finish.
KStyle Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 I noticed to. I think the crash on the ground is not yet finish. That would be my guess. Try belly landing with flaps down. The prop and flaps support the weight of the whole plane and don't bend or break.

I think this will be fixed later. Although it isn't nice - compared to the other 99,99% wich is VERY nice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yku6LDLnlx8
kestrel79 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 So I FINALLY got my stick and pedals setup. Got in the air my first try! Landing....wasn't so lucky. Crashed the 109 and landed the LAGG, but with some ground looping. Sounds are awesome! I love the way everything is shaking and super loud, makes me feel like I'm in the cockpit well done. 3 screen performance is very good too. I saw no drop in frames switching to 3 screens this morning compared to flying with just one the last couple days. Things get pretty grainy with 3 screens right now, that's the only drawback. I'm trying to turn off the SSAO to rid myself of that filter effect. When I find the startup.cfg file in the data folder and click on it, no notepad opens up to edit the file. And I clicking on the right file? Or is it someplace else?

That is because notepad is not set as default to open .cfg files on your system. You can just right click - select " open with " , and choose " notepad". If it does not offer notepad in that first screen after choosing " open with ", click the browse tab and locate it to select it. Have fun with the new stick and pedals!!

You need to go into the config file and zero out all post effects. With the full resolution there might be some hit on the FPS, depending of course on your hardware.
Zippy Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 My first day running it. Looks great. This is how you develop a niche game now. Build it with the support of the most avid users. I hope it is a financial success.

I can't get rid of the filter. When I set the SSAO stuff in "startup" file, the filter is still there.
EAF_Paf Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 After doing the changes in the startup.cfg, don't go back into the settings and change/apply anything. It will write SSAO on again.

Creepermoss Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Or mend it so it doesn't look completely fugly. In other games that use SSAO it doesn't look as though I'm a bank robber viewing the world through a stocking. A very apt description, IMO.
Bungmiester Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Well seeing as I have just joined the party my follow impressions are, Attention to detail is very good; and runs very well on my system at highish Graphic settings, except I get an odd stutter now and then. The Rudder on the Lagg seems far to senitive, not that I have ever flown one : ) I noticed when I was in combat with the Lag after I had had a few passes and got on his tail his plane would start to move like a fish tail and he would pull a shallow Left, or shallow right turn and become cannon fodder for my guns, a bit like the ai in ROF, but he was only a Novice. The landscape being all white is very nice but it would nice to have another seasons, and spotting a Lag in summer camoflage should be easier on a snowy landscape than it is. This leads me to the draw distances of aircraft I think they still need a bit of a tweak This has all probibly been all posted before, Very impressed though Great Stuff and love the pilot animations.. SYS Spec AN INTEL Q9650 Quad core 3ghz Geforce GTX 560 Graphics card 8 GIG of Ram Window Vist 64 Bit
Heywooood Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 this extended access has been great - I really like the way it runs on my setup - same as RoF. smooth performance and the look and feel of the simulator couldn't be better, and this is still beta... the same small issues as have already been posted about, but that I expect are part of the ongoing development so no need to mention them again. 1CGS and 777 have given us a winner that will, in short order, be the best WWII air combat sim available.
