The thread where we give away ROF keys

Thank you Sid, i grabbed the first.  :)

I read on the rof page, this plane was mainly used as escort or recon plane. Is there any servers in ROF, where i can try this plane? I am new in ROF, i don't know the servers, and I found only dogfight servers so far... is there any server, which running bomber missions, or any historically mission?

If you want to try the DFW online, you'll do best to try the Syndicate server - it is often included in missions, as a bomber. This is 'full difficulty' though - no icons etc - so you'll be jumping in at the deep end. You'll need to practice level bombing from altitude first, or risk low-level ground-pounding, for most missions. You'll also have to practice map-reading just to find the target...

It is worth persevering with, if you want to be a bomber pilot - it is the mainstay of the RoF Central bombers, and both easier to fly and less vulnerable than a Gotha. The trick for level bombing is to climb high (even with a 2000m airstart, another 1000m is worthwhile) and then try to sneak across the front unseen, for a bomb run directly into wind (or directly downwind, if you have to). With luck, you will get to the target unmolested, though by the time you get back to the front you may have Entente scouts looking for your scalp - be prepared to dive to gain speed as you hurry home.

In the beta carrier it seems it is used for escort flights and recon missions. Is there a Squadron that uses it as a bomber? Or do I misunderstand the terms there?

VO101Tom asked about servers, and is presumably going to fly it online. I've not done that much flying in the beta career, so I'm not sure how that uses the DFW - you could try asking on the RoF forum, to see if anyone knows more.

One other bit of advice for multiplayer flying with bombers - lock the gunner position as soon as you spawn, and don't let anyone you don't trust gun for you - we've had repeated problems with idiots who join as gunners and shoot up their own plane.

To celebrate the update to ROF yesterday and the news about new aircraft and features (full details here: http://riseofflight.com/Blogs/default.aspx ) here's a few more giveaways. It's great to see 777's commitment to improving and fixing their products and gives me great hope for both BOS and the continuing development of ROF. WTG 777 Studios! Pilot_salute1.gif

soo.. kind of OT, but is anyone flying tonight? SID? want to thank you in person, and request a personnal class on some of the toys you gifted

You'll regularly find me on the Flying Circus Server ( http://flying-circus.riseofflight.net/pilots/ ), a furballing arena with icons, where I'll be more than happy to try and shoot you down in your new 'toy'! Pilot_wink.gif

You can check who's on the main servers without being in game here  http://online.riseofflight.net/en/

For questions, I'd recommend either the main ROF Forum ( http://riseofflight.com/Forum/search.php?search_id=newposts ) or the New Wings Virtual Flight School ( http://newwingstraining.com/news.php ) and their Servers.

Eli, generally it's considered bad form to ask, but don't worry, I'm sure there will be more in time. ;)
If you look on the ROF forum, there are often threads like this there, and their is a gift registry that you can put your name in to, and perhaps be gifted some.

Nah, I'm a nonbreeder by choice as much as by nature :P

Sadly, I'm also a full-time geek with a workload that's utterly stupid, which has me reprogramming about 60 firewalls to accommodate a new layout during the off-days of Easter, which incidentally is barring me from getting much time off to do anything even remotely close to playing anything.

wtb new job pst :P
