My impression is that people commonly hold off on gifting it because it is kind of a beast plane that is damn good at everything, and maybe MP is less fun with too many in circulation at a time, but as with the Bristol Fighter, sometimes you just need something that will let you pound 15 AIs into the dirt without taking even one bullet back

Personally I find the Gotha one of the most challenging aircraft to fly in Rise Of Flight, just getting it airborne and back down again in one piece is a skill in it's self. Remember to check out Requiem's excellent training videos.
