wiseblood Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 (edited) There is already a big thread for giveaway codes over on the ROF site here. I thought as a welcome to new people coming from Il-2/COD, who might be curious about 777's way of doing things in ROF, it might be good to give away some codes Iron Cross Edition ROF here too. If you want to buy the best value starter pack for ROF, check: amazon.com gamersgate rise of flight storefspilotshopROF ICE regularly goes on sale for as little as $7.99 at these stores, so hit them up occasionally The ROF site is now also doing sales on individual planes, the first of which is a Sopwith Camel sale here - http://riseofflight.com/BLOGS/post/2013/06/21/Ace-Sale-John-Gilmour.aspx I am sure if you follow the news there will be others in time I have two ICE codes going free, first two people to PM me for them get them. Just to explain how this works to those new to ROF - the Rise of Flight client software is completely free, and includes 2 flyable planes - the Spad XIII (almost untouchable but quite twitchy BnZer), and the Albatros D.Va (agile, very forgiving all-rounder). All game functions such as MP, dynamic campaign, mission builder, etc, are unlocked for you right from the start for free, as long as they involve flying either the Spad XIII or Albatros D.Va. All the other aeroplane content is already present, and you can fight them as AI planes, but they're not flyable for you. You can however take up a gunner position in MP for a plane you don't own The Iron Cross Edition is a code you plug in to your ROF activation screen (as detailed here). The individual plane codes you see in the thread can be plugged in to an ICE activated, or registered demo account from your profile page (detailed by Sid here). The ICE package includes (in addition to the Spad XIII and D.VA mentioned above) -Fokker D.VII, Nieuport 28, SE.5a, Pfalz D.IIIa, Sopwith Camel, Fokker Dr.1, and in the Amazon/FSPilotshop pack, the bonus plane is a Nieuport N.17.ICE on special for $7.99 works out to $1.14 per plane, rather than $7.62ea if you purchased them singly, so it's a pretty awesome deal Several more people have joined in offering individual plane codes now! Again these are just codes that plug into your ROF profile on the ROF website, you don't need ICE or any other paid license first, just a registered free client account. The honour roll of gifters :=AH=_Sidhq_JorriGunsmith86If you're taking the free codes, please save some for people who might not have anything yet Edited June 28, 2013 by wiseblood 5

ATAG_Slipstream Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 The RoF community has some really generous people in it. If the same attitudes carry over to the new venture that can only be a good thing. 2
PeterZvan Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 This is quite normal in the RoF community - planes are gifted very often. It has also a lot to with with the fact that we all want to support 777 as much as possible - so many of us buy more than what we normaly would.

Yep, I have given away 9 copies of ICE and 13 non-ICE addon planes so far The ICE for 8 bucks deal is really pretty hard to beat though. FSPilotshop are offering the same price right now too, if you are overseas and don't have a fake US shipping address plugged into amazon http://www.fspilotshop.com/rise-flight-iron-cross-edition-download-p-2740.html Edited December 17, 2012 by wiseblood 2

=BKHZ=Furbs Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Do you put the whole code including the plane name or just the code letters?
Sturm_ Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 I took the first: GXD86-E3WMM-PSAJJ-3Z7YN-BML47 Thx a lot Sid!
=BKHZ=Furbs Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Got it! thanks very much!!! got number3 thanks!
=AH=_Sid_ Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 (edited) Do you put the whole code including the plane name or just the code letters? Just the code letters (make sure the code doesn't have a leading space when you copy and paste). You obviously have to have the retail or free version of Rise of Flight installed to use the plane. Your welcome guys, maybe see you online someday. Two codes left. Edited December 17, 2012 by =AH=_Sid
Jaws2002 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 (edited) That kite is cool as heck to fly. I love driving it down the river like a boat, to look for good fishing spots. Edited December 17, 2012 by Jaws2002
Ribbs Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Damn... at work now and cant get one..NOOOOooooo..... lol
=AH=_Sid_ Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 As long as you can logon to your Rise of Flight account page, you can activate a gift code http://riseofflight.com/en/profile/license You don't need to be in game to do this, the game will just register the new aircraft next time you logon in game. 1
Ribbs Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Iwas putting it in the top one.. got the invalid code. Then i pasted it in the bottom gift codes.. and i think it still was invalid. Trying to do this from my phone.. kind of a pain..but worth the shot
Ribbs Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 They must be all gone... dang! Very generous of you anyways! S!
=AH=_Sid_ Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 (edited) Ok the first batch are all gone (guess you missed them Ribbs, hence the invalid code message). If you missed out this time around, I'll be gifting a few aircraft each day here in the run up to Christmas . If you don't currently have Rise of Flight installed, you'll need to either download the Free Version of ROF or buy the ICE Edition in order to use these gift planes. What's the difference between the Free Version and the ICE Edition? Not a lot really, they're both the same install and both have exactly the same content. The only difference is activation code; The Free activation code unlocks just 2 of ROF's 33 aircraft, the ICE Edition activation code unlocks 9 of ROF's 33 aircraft (many of which are some of ROF's best aircraft). Additional aircraft can be bought through the ROF Store, or picked up as Gifts on the ROF Forum (personally I always avoid gifting any of the ICE Edition aircraft, but if you have the Free Version the ICE aircraft can be picked individually in the same way without buying the ICE upgrade). The ICE Edition currently retails at US$34.99 in the ROF store. http://riseofflight.com/en/store/demoupgrades/demoiceupgrade But as wiseblood points out Amazon and fspilotshop have the ICE Edition on special offer at the moment for just US$7.99 (not bad for the additional 7 aircraft you get) Link to the Free Version http://riseofflight.com/tryrof/en Link to the ICE Edition (Amazon.com) http://www.amazon.com/Rise-Flight-Cross-Edition-Download/dp/B004TGME1Y/ Link to the ICE Edition (fspilotshop.com) http://www.fspilotshop.com/rise-flight-iron-cross-edition-download-p-2740.html Not interested in WWI, no problem, but you still might want to load the Free Version of ROF just to check out 777 Studios current graphics engine, frame rates, options and joystick setup. No doubt some of this will change with Battle of Stalingrad, but I'm guessing much of it will remain very similar. Previously played ROF back when it came out, but not played for a while? It's worth checking out again, the last two years have seen a lot of added content, and a lot of tweaks to the graphics engine and weapon modelling, rates of fire etc. See the news blog for recent changes http://riseofflight.com/Blogs/default.aspx If you can't remember your original account details (email address you registered under) you can put your original "activation key" in on the forgot login page and have it emailed to you. http://riseofflight.com/en/profile/forgotlogin If you can't remember your original password, you can put your email address in on the forgot password page and have it emailed to you. http://riseofflight.com/en/profile/forgotpassword For now here's another five Brandenburg W12 to be getting on with 1) Brandenburg_W12 Gone 2) Brandenburg_W12 Gone 3) Brandenburg_W12 Gone 4) Brandenburg_W12 Gone 5) Brandenburg_W12 Gone Lets see who gets them, Best of luck! 4./JG53_Wotan Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 (edited) Very generous of you SId... This thread has probably done more to show the true spirit of the flight sim community then any other on this forum. Edited December 17, 2012 by 4./JG53_Wotan 1
dburne Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Thanks for the great and detailed info Sid. WWII is more my thing, however I did enjoy Red Baron all those years ago, and now want to give ROF a try.
hegykc Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 (edited) I got the 1st Brandenburg. Thank you Sid. What a great community. I will "pay it forward" first chance i get. Thanks again. Edited December 17, 2012 by hegykc
=BKHZ=Furbs Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 If Sid is giving away more planes for free, it might be the right thing to do to only take one each and let others have a chance. 3
migmadmarine Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 (edited) Lovely water handling the W.12 has, isn't it. Oh, and be careful about getting holes in your floats, unless you're ok with sinking once you've gotten back in the water. Edited December 17, 2012 by thenorm
Binky Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 If Sid is giving away more planes for free, it might be the right thing to do to only take one each and let others have a chance. Paying it forward is also a nice thing to do. The RoF forums have an entire thread (it's in the OP) dedicated to gifting, with some members litterally handing out hundreds of dollars worth of product keys. A little kindness to one another really strengthens a community. 1
TX-ScubaSteve Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Thank you very much =AH=_Sid! I'm now the proud owner of a shiny new seaplane!
