150GCT_Veltro Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 Yes, we can wait the copyrighted "two weeks" for the beast.
Feathered_IV Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 The not-so schnell bomber. Take your time though. I'm sure it will be worth it.
Asgar Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 i'm just glad they decided to add the WB 81 and the Stuvi (what else could explain the delay )
Dutchvdm Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 No i think the black nightpaint was a hint to the C-6 heavy fighter we are going to get Wishful thinking. I know... Grt Martijn
ShamrockOneFive Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 i'm just glad they decided to add the WB 81 and the Stuvi (what else could explain the delay ) Don't get people riled up if those things haven't been confirmed...
Feathered_IV Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I just hope the AI crewman who sits beside you is well modelled and animated, and not an irritation. 1
Veteran66 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I just hope the AI crewman who sits beside you is well modelled and animated, and not an irritation. not like in CloD hope for better BoS He111 crewman too, not only lying on MG
Bestmann Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Meanwhile let's get some practice by flying the CloD A1 model. It's a lovely bird! 1
SR-F_Winger Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Meanwhile let's get some practice by flying the CloD A1 model. It's a lovely bird! Whats that? Any pictures/Video? Thanks!
xvii-Dietrich Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Whats that? Any pictures/Video? Thanks! Ju 88 A-1, as implemented in IL-2: Cliffs of Dover. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWI4OOZq3Rw
SR-F_Winger Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 (edited) ah thanks. Was hoping to hear something about FW 190 for Clod:) Edited March 11, 2016 by StG2_Winger
Asgar Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 what do you think, next week sound good to you guys?
LLv24_Zami Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Sounds good to me Asgar! If it has gone to the beta this week, it's very much possible.
Asgar Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 (edited) has it though? any official word on that? the last thing i read about the beta was in the last devblog and it was only "soon" Edited March 16, 2016 by I./JG3_Asgar
Asgar Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 guess we just have to keep hoping for a quick release
LLv24_Zami Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Yeah fingers crossed. But I think it will come in next two weeks. I'm sure it will be worth the little wait
-TBC-AeroAce Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 (edited) All I can say is "tick followed tock followed tick followed tock" If u don't get it mehh Edited March 17, 2016 by AeroACE
[DBS]Prody Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 (edited) there is no Romanian skin on this one , maybe some one will create it Edited March 17, 2016 by [DBS]Prody 1
Asgar Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Ju 88 A-4 bomber is ready for beta testing. Crew models and animations are integrated into the plane, its flight model and AI are tuned, the errors that were found at this point are fixed. Everybody get ready for action
Finkeren Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Don't hold your breath for next week, though. Such a complex model could use more than a handful of days in beta.
Asgar Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 but it doesn't have to. the devs are already quite comfortable in creating multi engine planes i feel. and they said they fixed a bunch of bugs already. it's possible that it has less errors remaining than you think
Finkeren Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 I don't think it's as much the multi-engine part that's difficult about the 88 as it is the 4-guys-crammed-into-a-cockpit-the-size-of-the-cabin-on-a-Fiat-500 part.
Matt Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 The last completely new multi engine plane took about three weeks to beta best btw.
Asgar Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 shut up! i don't want to hear anything like that *lalala* 1
DD_Arthur Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 If past releases by 777 and 1CG are anything to go by they'll try to get something out in time for Easter and then enjoy a well-earned break over the Russian holidays.
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 I'm with Fink on this one guys. I wouldn't expect it sooner than two weeks...........................................but I've been wrong before.
ShamrockOneFive Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 I don't think it's as much the multi-engine part that's difficult about the 88 as it is the 4-guys-crammed-into-a-cockpit-the-size-of-the-cabin-on-a-Fiat-500 part. I suspect that as well. I talked to the guy who did the work on the Ju88A-4 for the original IL-2 series and he said the biggest challenge was that shared crew space. A lot of work to do to get it working properly. I'm guessing it'll be a little bit before we see it. Definitely the most challenging type for them to bring to us.
Asgar Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 anyone else surprised by the amount of videos we already saw about the 88? maybe the release will be sooner than we thought
Lusekofte Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Oh how I miss that kind of anticipation. I personally lost the capability of it I feel. Bought a new used car last year and expected a great deal of anticipation. But " poff " nothing I am sure I will try out this plane and then go back to the ones I like
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 When the right aircraft comes that fire comes back One thing that got my curious: considering the cramped arrangement, can we assume that pair of HE rounds into the cockpit kill the whole crew? How protected was the enclosing?
ShamrockOneFive Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 anyone else surprised by the amount of videos we already saw about the 88? maybe the release will be sooner than we thought Not really. And I don't think the release will be any sooner than expected... The videos they have shown us have been carefully choreographed. That's not to cast a negative light on it. They showed us the stuff that's working pretty well right now and they haven't shown us video of the stuff that is probably still buggy. I'm fully confident that they will have it out sooner than later. I'm just appreciating that a multi crew bomber like this is a bit of an undertaking and I'm glad they are giving us the Ju88. We had to wait many years in IL-2 Forgotten Battles days before we got the Ju88 flyable.
Yogiflight Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 (edited) And we had to wait until Team Daidalos` patch 4.13, that the second rear machinegun got finally working. Unfortunately, like it will be in BOS, there is aiways only one of the two firing. I don`t know, if it is a problem for the game engine or if [Edited]. 7.GShAP/Silas Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 (edited) [Edited] Oh please. Edited March 22, 2016 by Bearcat
Yogiflight Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Yes I know, sorry, but I don`t understand, why we don`t get those two machineguns shooting at the same time. As I asked in the Developers Question, why not the button "change sides in a turret" between forward and right rear machinegun. Don`t understand me wrong, the Ju88 looks absolutely great, and I am waiting to be able to fly it finally, but there are things to make it better.
Dakpilot Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Seriously? it may be just a silly little comment but this constant sniping at "Russian Dev" mentality is plain ridiculous and insulting...be happy they made the JU-88 and not the Il-4. For whatever reasons, I am sure it was not consciously decided to 'pull the teeth' from a German aircrafts defensive capability Perhaps you should just wait for a completely Western European or American developed CFS Maybe you think i am overreacting, but these constant little jibes all add up to an unhealthy and unjustified atmosphere, sure, complain and criticise about systems that are not working to sufficient historical accuracy, until they get attention, but these silly schoolboy digs are just getting tiresome And I would defend dev's in the same manner if they were American, Japanese, Finnish, German, Malagasy or god forbid British I think they have sufficiently proved themselves as flightsim fans foremost Cheers Dakpilot 1
Brano Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 I don't think it was ergonomically manageable to have two gunners mounting both upper rear guns at same time. Second one was usually lying in lower gondola firing rearwards and down. This way they could cover upper and lower firing arcs of the plane.
Yogiflight Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 It was not the gunner from the gondola who shot the right machinegun, but the navigator, because the use of the forward machinegun is not to big, it is written in the instruction sheet. I am not sure that there was any medium bomber on allied side that even had a forward gunner, I think they all had just fixed forward guns. And there is enough room to shoot both guns, much more likely than the radio operator leaning to his left to fire the right gun as you can see it in the video. When you ever shot with a machinegune, especially one with a high firingrate like the MG81 had, you know this is not realistic, because you don`t have enough control over the weapon.
Matt Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 The bombardier was able to fire the right gun and there's enough room for two people back there. Not sure if the decision is even final, that the radio operator has to operate both rear guns. I guess animating the bombardier to switch between front and back might also be a challenge.
