Jade_Monkey Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Like the title says, I'm using TIR5 with the pro clip, and sometimes I don't put it on until I have spawned and the engines are running. Very often, if i dont have the clip on (being read by the sensor) before I spawn, the game will freeze. It's not a crash to desktop, it freezes and all planes that were moving freeze with the props spinning and the dust on the ground still moving. It would be nice to fix this so we don;t ahve to restart the game all over when this happens. Thanks!
Dutchvdm Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Hi, I had a lot off TR5 crashing issues in BOS. Game froze as soon as i enabled TR5. Now i play the game in windowed mode and it seems to be 'fixed'. Have to test more to be sure. Grt M
13Nrv Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 (edited) i had a strange behavior with new 5.4 tir driver ; . Almost everytime first launch by double clicking desktop icon was unsuccesfull ---->tir frozes and may make my whole game froze too , and i had to close it with a right click ...and then relaunch to be successfull ; i had to run it two times in order to make my tir working I ve cured this by moving "Tir launcher icon" to quick launch bar ...not sure i write it correctly though ...anyway it solves my problem, now my Tir is launching at first try and with one click and no more problem in/with game , i m on win 10 pro X64....if it can help ... FTC_Frederf Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 (edited) I am having an issue exactly as described in this old thread (I didn't want to necro it): Please can I have help fixing this? It's very disruptive as the only fix is to completely restart both TrackIR and the game which takes many minutes which is often too long during large group events with a tight schedule. I have never seen any game freeze when beginning track mid-play with TIR. If TIR is tracking before entering 3D this issue does not occur. It also doesn't occur every time I begin track mid-session. Maybe it is depending of track happened before or depends 2D/3D. I'm trying various workarounds like pausing track before turning on emitter or even seeing if going back to 2D will avoid it as it's disruptive but not as disruptive as having to quick the whole program. When the freeze does occur I can still bring up the exit menu, change settings/keybinds, and click finish flight or exit but those have no effect. The sound continues to play. Pausing is not possible or any other interaction. Selecting restart mission locks the game after clicking accept. Update: Tried F9 pausing TIR before beginning track but it still did the freeze thing. I tested a few workaround hopeful techniques but none has seemingly improved the odds. I know someone will just say "don't forget to turn on your LED emitter before starting" which is a bit unhelpful. I will try to remember to establish tracking before starting the software but I do forget and I wish the software wasn't so fragile that this issue would occur. Update2: Leaving back to 2D, beginning TIR track, and then resuming 3D had a single success in test. That's not great but it's a slight workaround compared to exiting the entire program. I hope it's a reliable one. Edited May 25, 2023 by FTC_Frederf
69th_Panp Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Directly from the TIR manual . Verify that the TrackIR software is running before starting the simulation that you wish to use with TrackIR.
FTC_Frederf Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 The software is running. The game detects the software and lights up the right-hand light on the TIR unit. The problem is that if the tracker part is seen by the TIR camera after the game starts it crashes.
