Moscow map seasonal versions

I've been looking over the developer diary screenshots (they are beauties!) and I was starting to wonder about the seasonal variations for the Moscow map. So far as I understood there would be two versions of the map - Autumn and Winter. We haven't seen Winter yet but we've seen lots of Autumn shots. But some of the shots that I've seen look different. Some of them appear more brown and grey while others have more colour to them. So I had an idle thought that maybe there were two versions of the Autumn map... one set early in the fall and another set later in the fall.

Anyone have any thoughts?

The latest shots are the ones that caused me to consider this possibility:

Also looking forward to seeing the winter map :)

Well-spotted, but I think these are just variations stemming from different parts of the city.

Consider this: Moscow, historically (though the tradition lives onto today) was always held up as a giant showcase of what Soviet living and standards were. The streets were the cleanest, the buildings the shiniest and biggest, the underground the most effective and so on, so forth. Even today, if you go to Moscow you will have to spent a good time until you find a flower arrangement by the sidewalk that looks messy, out of season or is withering. You will also have a hard time finding a road that has snow or ice on it.

In Autumn I don't think there was enough time for the confusion to start taking its toll in the appearance of the city (and once it did later on there were quick measures to get everyone back on track and keep Moscow alive), so the grass within Western Moscow itself that had been properly taken care of would look much livelier than a random tree in the outer reaches of Podmoskovye :)

It could simply be due to different times of day or angles the screenshots were taken.

Lukas, I don't think it's due to the number of janitors the city had at the time. He's asking about the map, not the city itself. ;)

I see what you mean but if you look closely the areas which have greener tones are all within Moscow and the most populated parts of Podmoskovye, while that (very realistically modelled, I must say) mushy brown is dominant over forest areas and airbases :)

I think you're right. I spent some more time looking over the screenshots and yeah... its probably just the unique areas giving that impression. Very cool map one way or another!
