Adler_ Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Since the BOM update I've had some performance issues. Decided to reinstall the game and it did help in some extent but there are still fps drops from 80 to 30 when there are too many icons/tanks. I remember before when playing normal winter maps that would rarely happen and was running at ultra settings. There would be some FPS drops if the area was cluttered with icons(vehicles) but it was playable. Now I am running my game at high, anti aliasing x2 and distance normal. I will downgrade my game to medium, but I am 100% sure that won't really boost my fps. My specs are : GTX 960 4gig ssc , I5 4690 3.50ghz , 8gig ram and windows7 64 bit. Any tips ? Regards, Leon
Dakpilot Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Not that it is much help but, in those situations the FPS drop is 99% probably due to CPU, lowering graphics would likely have no effect...unless you would drop them so low that it frees up CPU cycles by not needing to supply so much info to GPU, which is not really worth considering If possible upping CPU to 4ghz+ could yield a small benefit Cheers Dakpilot
No_85_Gramps Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Your 4690 should top out at 3.9ghz in turbo mode. You can modify your windows power plan and force it to run at that speed continually.
310_cibule Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) Do you use Track IR? There is a new driver that fixed an issue where certain NVIDIA GPUs might step down to a lower power state while the TrackIR software was active. I apllied it but saw no change in FPS. But one never knows. You can give it a try. https://forums.naturalpoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13657&p=61667&sid=21f0ce2f5fe60382de2ae8055e63fa9e#p61667 Edited February 11, 2016 by 310_cibule

Will try that, could be a possible solution. Thanks! Do you use Track IR? Adler_ Posted February 12, 2016 Author Posted February 12, 2016 Gramps I am not 100% sure but it does feel a lot better since I power boosted it.. Thank you a lot
No_85_Gramps Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 I always thought it helped when I made that change. At least the CPU won't be throttling up and down, it will stay fairly steady. 1
