Yankee_One Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) Hi all, i have some questions belonging this bird. On the far right near the landing gear lamps are two instruments with orange dials/numbers. What are they for? Over the yellow fuel pump is a green / metalic lever. Didnt found for it was used. Is there someone who knows something about those instruments and if they are integrated in this sim? Thanks Edited February 10, 2016 by LcSummers
Sokol1 Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) Voltimeter/Amperimeter with selected button in lower side. Seems that batteries charge is not modeled, if you leave the plane with engine off and all lights on, no change in instrument reading after some time... The connector in his right side is for gunsight backlight illumination. The crank is for manual emergency extension of landing gear - think that not modeled, as there's no gear extension failures. Yankee_One Posted February 11, 2016 Author Posted February 11, 2016 Hi Sokol, thanks a lot for these infos. Every time i started the engine, there was no change in the dials, thats why i asked. Perfect answer for me. Now i know i did not made sth wrong flying the early IL-2. Best regards LC
Sokol1 Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Every time i started the engine, there was no change in the dials, thats why i asked. In fact before start the engine the Amperemeter/Voltmeter read ~60, when the battery is switched ON (by start scrip) the needle drop for ~59, but leaving the plane with panel, landing, navigation lights on for a ~hour and time X 2 don't indicates charge consumption.

That would be fun you are shot up in your IL-2 and 100 meters off the ground you deploy your landing gear and it does not come down. You crank like mad your emergency extension landing gear to get that gear down because you will be back to Mother earth in just a few seconds
