Ace_Pilto Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I figure someone here might be bored enough to watch these... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWc3q2hna30&list=PLOx2hg8RS8Y1jEVAyhjCZZ8ZZ8YQ7OA4J 2

=LD=Penshoon Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Nice, remember watching your RoF pwcg videos a long time ago, keep it going 1
Ace_Pilto Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 THanks to you both. I got off to a bit of a rough start but things went better in the second mission and I found myself starting to "feel it" again.
Reagan505 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Hello, I'm new to posting videos and screen shots. Have a few questions if that's ok. How do I watch my videos outside of IL-2, is there a special video player I need to download. I'd like to start posting my videos on here and Youtube, can you give me a quick walk through on how to do this? Watched you video, super awesome. Thanks 1
Ace_Pilto Posted February 6, 2016 Author Posted February 6, 2016 Thanks Reagan, there's probably better guides out there already on YouTube that explain how to go about making videos but here's some basic information on how I do things. I use nVidia Shadowplay to capture my footage because it's the best software for the job out of all of the programs I have used in the past. FRAPS is obsolete, DxTory and OBS are ok but they are harder to use and they cut your frame-rates too much for good quality (1080p) footage. Your mileage may vary. I have a Microsoft LifeChat LX3000 (or something) headset microphone that I use for commentary which is simple to configure (When I don't lean on the mute button). I don't do any post production but I used to use Sony Vegas back when I did. I stopped doing post production and editing with Vegas because it would often break my videos and was too much of a ball breaker. Apart from that it's just a matter of fiddling around with settings and testing stuff until you get things the way you want them.
Reagan505 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Thanks for the quick response JimmyBlonde! I have Shadowplay, but have no idea what to do with it lol. I recorded my flights in game via IL-2. I have all the tracks, just not sure what to open them with or how to edit them, post them on YouTube, etc. I'm not very good with this type of stuff =) So with Shadowplay, can you edit your videos though that? Like throw clips together, add music, etc?
Ace_Pilto Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 You're best off doing a YouTube search for tutorials, I'd post one myself but I'm not big on re-inventing the wheel.

You use ShadowPlay or something similar to record the replay of the track from the game. Then you use video editing software to cut and edit your recorded video. I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio, but for a start Windows Live Movie or whatever it's called should be just fine.
