How will a un-install & reinstall work with my two folders of BoS?

Currently i have two folders with similar folders :one I got as part of a digital download when I first purchased BoS;the second is the folder installed when the Steam downloaded version became availble .Both are located in the C:Program files(x86) folder. The first is in its own folder 1CGames and the Steam one is where you would suspect Steamapps/Common.I assume there is an online connection, that performs some functions but I do not know what.In any case my Steam install has a small but bothersome problem; the "Settings "function doesn't work- just after a mission has finished loading & before you hit start. If you hit "Settings" nothing happens but I am sent immediately back to the "Start "now screen without "Settings"button there anymore.I hit start & the aircraft I am flying is always in the" Default "setting. No choice in skin or other equipment settings possible This does not happen if I start the other earlier 1CSoftclub version.

Here's where I am lost, after checking to see if everything is ok through the option in Steam,I figured I should uninstall the steam version & reinstall same ,BUT there is no" Un-install "exe in the steam version. There is an "Uninstall Exe" in the 1CSoftclub version- the version that works ok that I don't want to un-install.Should I go ahead? Try something else,or just play the version in which everything works & forget about the Steam folder version.Obviously i don't want to screw up a perfectly ( almost) functioning sim.I want everything set up corrctly for the day when BoM arrives as well...

Ideas....please?

If you right-click BoS in your Steam gamelist you should see option to remove local content. I'm not sure about the exact words because my Steam is not in english. But that means uninstall.

Backup your input-folder just in case so you don't need to reassign controls if things go wrong.

Why do you want to keep both versions?
