Pe-2 Series 35 Skins

Hi folks,

This is my first attempt to skinning a PE2, and It's a Series 35, with unusual polichromatic camouflage(typical of aircrafts on early 1941). The unit could be the 410 BAP or 411 BAP.

I just draw what's in Massimos's page. I attached some pics for reference.

Hope you enjoy this first skin.

Regards,

Hi folks,

I create a small skin pack with 4 aircraft paints; two are fictional and the other two are based on profiles that I find but I can't assure how accurate they are. For example, number #6 is close to the profile I have but the camo doesn't match 100%. I adapted a little. I'm still looking for more clues about him but is fully flyable.
Anyways, the point is to have some skins for this bird to start with, until people with more skills and info can achieve better results.
These ones are simple but nice skins(at least for me).
Hope you like them.
S!

PS: Number #1 and #6 are the ones based on profiles; number #23 and #73 are my own inspirations based on the fabulous 777 skin template. All of them have their own style, to fit different tastes.

Hi Peter,

beautiful work. My respect.

Well done mate!

Hi guys,

Thanks for the compliments :salute: . @LcSummers: Yes, the IL2 1941 is on the to do list but to transpose some skins from the IL2 1942 model is little tricky(if is a camo one). The new IL2 1941 template is just little smaller than the 42 one and you need to scale down the layers. I'm working with the polichromatic camo that I did some ago for the 1942 version but is still on the work.

Regards,

Peter

Nice work Peter and Jade.  I'm thinking about doing one of these.  Maybe White 35.

Decided to do a couple of these as there aren't too many skins here.

The first is an early un-numbered version with only slightly weathered.  It has unpainted props and no stars except on the wings.  Painted  with A-18f and A-19f.  I will be working on Red 9, a later version with camo.

Red 9.  From what sources I can find this aircraft was part of either 95 or 96 SBAP most likely in July 1941.  I found its green part of the livery non-standard and a challenge.  I used A-28m and A-24m.

Here are the 4k versions of the Early "factory fresh" and Red 9.  I would consider both historical as possible.  Thanks once again to ICDP for his template work.

Early "Factory fresh" is un-numbered, has unpainted props and no stars except on the wings.  See post #16 above.

Red 9 has non-standard paint lines.  See post #17 above.

Tired of me in BoM career to accompany the dull Peshkas, decided to paint bots. From the template from ICDP, I made a black-and-green 4K skin, which was later distributed to bots as a default by using the mod from TG-55Panthercules.

Playing a career BoM on Pe-2, made an appropriate 4k skin-pack (9 skins). Two aircraft from the 128th BAP (No. 7, No. ? and the 132th BAP (No. 21, No. 2) were taken as a basis. Winter of 1941/42. The rest of the unit is multiplied by the change of number. Brake shields are "dismantled".

Because skins 4K, then for them it is desirable to use the normal map from the template author ICDP: http://www.mediafire.com/file/l9mlynkecfljguc/Pe2s35_4k_Normalmap.zip

Credit and thanks goes to 1CGS and ICDP for the great templates, I guess I combined those here and there.

One more Finnish War-booty plane. Only historical markings (without Jean-Luc)

A faux Italian skin for the Pe-2 series 35. I'm still tinkering with it and I'll probably add a couple variations as well. I'll upload it soon.

I've recently gotten a copy of Kari Stenman and Karolina Holda's Finnish bomber colors book, and got interested in having a crack at some Finnish skins of my own, as I got interested in some of the particulars like painting captured aircraft in splinter patterns rather than wavy, etc. Not quite ready to release, but I've done PE-111, 113 and 115 specific skins, as well as generic versions with both the white and subdued versions of the insignia. I may do a couple more variations (like Lapland war for PE-111). Hope the guys in the Finnish side of the community will be pleased with them when I put them out (and that you guys get your module one of these days)
