1. Disabling motion blur.

In-game, look for camera under settings, then disable Cinematic mode.

2. No elevator trim for Axis fighters?

Instead of trim, the Axis fighter move the whole horizontal stabilizer.

In controls:

The 190 has a different command box, it's a few down. It does the exact thing, don't ask why it's separate.

What it does in-game:

Neutral:

Negative:

Positive:

3. Why is the P-40's nose so heavy on take off?

You need to set the trim wheel to the take off setting. It's about -95% on the P-40.

4. How do I open the door on the floor of the Stuka?

Use your bomb bay key. The default is N.

In-game:

Closed:

Open:

5. How do I correct for wind in a bomb sight?

Subtracting the wind heading by your plane's heading will work. If you are in between say, 2000-5000, let's say 3000. This can be done simply by looking at the information given, and picking a steadily increasing number (it's okay if you end up 1, or digits off). Using this, we can figure that the speed for 3000, and 4000 will be 10-11 m/s. The heading for 3000 should be 169-170, and 4000 should be 165-166.

5. More cannon ammo in the Bf-110?

This can be done using the Reload all guns control. You will be able to reload 2 times, and will have 60 rounds per drum.

6. In what planes do I have to manage what?

Axis:

Fighters:

Bf-109 E-7: manual radiators, manual/auto prop pitch.

Bf-109 F-4/G-2: manual/auto water radiators, and prop pitch.

Fw-190 A-3: manual/auto prop pitch.

M.C. 202: manual radiators, manual/auto prop pitch, boost mode.

Attackers:

Ju-87 D-3: manual radiators, manual prop RPM

Bf-110 E-2: manual radiators: water rads open/close in increments of 12%-13%, oil rads open/close in 50% increments. On/off prop RPM.

Bombers:

He-111 H-6: manual radiators, oil rads open/close in 50% increments. Manual prop RPM, manual/auto supercharger.

Allies

Fighters:

Yak-1/LaGG-3: manual rads, manual mixture, manual prop RPM, manual 2 stage supercharger.

MiG-3: manual rads, manual mixture, manual prop RPM.

I-16: manual oil rad, manual inlet cowl shutters, manual mixture, manual prop RPM, manual 2 stage supercharger, boost mode.

La-5: manual oil rad, manual inlet/outlet cowl shutters, manual mixture, manual prop RPM, manual 2 stage supercharger, boost mode.

P-40 E-1: manual outlet cowl shutters, manual mixture, manual prop RPM, manual/auto prop pitch (disables previous when manual)

Attackers:

IL-2 1942: manual rads, manual mixture, manual prop RPM.

Bombers:

Pe-2: manual water rads, manual mixture, manual 2 stage supercharger.

I know some of these are rather basic, but they would have helped me when I started playing.

Feel free to add any, or ask questions!

Make sure mixture is set to 100% before starting your engine (on aircraft with manual mixture).

Don't bother using taxi ways or anykind of airfield common sense as if you do spend the extra 3 mins doing so someone will land on you, crash into you while desperately trying to overtake or take off into you

As a noob, this is a great thread, thanks. I didn't even know there was a door in the floor of the Stuka. Now I can't wait to get home and open it!

Graphics question: I run this on a decently fast i5 with a GTX 770 at 1080p. Overall the game runs really well, but there is some noticeable screen tearing whenever the pilot's head pans around. Any advice on how to eliminate/minimize that?

Thanks!

I think VSync is supposed to fix that. It will decrease your FPS though.

I was wondering about the motion blur myself. Now I`m wondering about the grass - I`d like it not to appear when up close so either off option or preload sooner into vram. Since the vid options in BoS lack so much I`d appreciate a guide on BoS vid settings.

But in Russian aircraft you have to set your mixture to full beforehand.

uncheck full screen and vsync in game, use native res, and use vsync in NCP ( i use "adaptive"); works great

Rctrl + L when taxiing, taking off, and landing. (Could be Rshift)

I so you don't see yourself on the map.

LSHIFT + S at 2500m for the 2nd stage super charger when flying VVS.

LSHIFT + A for when you have to take a piss.

I think the Nvidia CP settings only work if Full Screen is checked.

Don't pick a fight unless you have height.

Fly with a group or fan will hit poop.

Keep your head on a swivel, or your chances will shrivel.

Happy landings!

That, I believe, is incorrect  :) ; definitely best performance/least stutter if running at native monitor resolution and full screen unchecked. It has no bearings on NCP settings, most will work either way, especially Vsync (at least they do on my system); u might be thinking of the latest upscale/DSR options?

Well it's easy enough to check. Set Adaptive Vsync for Half Refresh rate and run a frame rate counter like from ShadowPlay. See if you're getting 30fps.

I never knew where/what to find for that item one (cinematic).  Glad I stumbled on this thread.  Loving flying without it now!  many thanks OP!

- Always Take Off & Land With Windsock Pointing Towards Your Nose
(or as close as possible)

- The more speed you gain on your take off roll the more speed you will have on initial climb and less flaps needed
(Use up the Entire runway if you want/can)

- A Safe Landing Always Follows A Stable Approach
(on final you should only be making tiny adjustments to power and course,)
