DigitalEngine Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Is it me, or is spell cheching not working on this forum.
Cybermat47 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Spell chequeing is the beast! I always USA it, even when I'm texting my fry ends. I don't now why people don't USA spell chequeing maw, it's really God! 3

I don't now why people don't USA spell chequeing maw, it's really God! You're pretty rude Cybermat47. Tired too of your mocking USA comments today. How long would it last if I started mocking your little piece of Heaven? Is it me, or is spell cheching not working on this forum. It works BlueMatrix. Just right click on whatever word you want to check here. Works in Firefox too.
II./JG27_Rich Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 I sure need it. Never heve been able to spell. One thing I have noticed lately...it must be mostly kids...they are switching the words then and than back and forth. "His car is better then mine" You see it all over youtube coments.

How long would it last if I started mocking your little piece of Heaven? It was a joke. The autocorrect 'changed' use to USA. I'm not sure how that made you think I was mocking America...And when have I mocked the USA? More importantly, why would I mock the USA? Some of the nicest people I know are American! And Australia isn't a piece of Heaven. Tony Abbot is in charge, remember? Edited November 18, 2013 by Cybermat47
Creepermoss Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 The one that gets me, is when people use "are" instead of "our". "Are class went to..." makes my brain hurt a little. 1

Might not be heaven but it was certainly hell under Gillard and Dudd Rudd.
Feathered_IV Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Ouch. Swallowed the whole tackle box there Rjel.
Cybermat47 Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Might not be heaven but it was certainly hell under Gillard and Dudd Rudd. Oh no. Not the political debate. Anything but that!
FlyingNutcase Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Do you guys need spell checking here? How about coding some grammatical AI into the forum so we can get rid of the "your" vs "you're" debacle, like "Your awesome, dude." It's okay if you have to delay early access - everyone here will be understanding and appreciate you're dedication to grammatical correctness. 1
Skoshi_Tiger Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 How long would it last if I started mocking your little piece of Heaven? Crikey! If you've heard any jokes about us 'stralians, they're probably correct, especially when they concern those blokes East of the border! They're a weird mob, they is!
Uufflakke Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 I sure need it. Never heve been able to spell. One thing I have noticed lately...it must be mostly kids...they are switching the words then and than back and forth. "His car is better then mine" You see it all over youtube coments. Coments? But seriously, I read in the above comments that spell check works in Firefox too. Never knew about this option in FF. When I doubt about a word like successfull/successful/succesful/succesfull or access/acces I google it for the correct spelling. I should try the FF option then. @FlyingNutcase: I don't know if it is such a good idea of adding the coding of some grammatical AI into the forum. Then a US/UK debate starts about things like 'color' or 'colour'.
Grifter Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 I heard something about Bogans... wasn't very flattering either. Kind of an Aussie redneck?
Skoshi_Tiger Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) Go back far enough and you find out about Bodgies and Widgies as well! But Bogans are just the symptom of our disaffect lifestyle. During the 70's/80's Australia had a Music scene. Kids could watch a band on TV and then go and see them playing at a local pub. That doesn't exist anymore. Bogans are like a cultural dinosaur. A relic population, A hangover from a bygone era! Even though most bogans around today weren't even born when Angus was alive they still wear the T-Shirts. Most that were alive are now fat, middle-aged [expletive removed], with proper jobs and bad haircuts. "Cashed-Up-Bogans" are old B-Tards that drive their V8 HSV Monaros and FPV's to their place of work (managing companies), playing AcaDaca to relive their misspent youth. Most mainstream Australians have a soft spot for Bogans, everyone's got a friend or relative that's a Bogan. It's quite sad really! All in all I think Boganism is lot less offensive than the Aussie kids that pretend they're rappers and go around saying "Yo blood!" Edited November 18, 2013 by Skoshi_Tiger
