Vendigo Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Am I the only one sick of not having a proper campaign mode like old IL-2? Is it really that complicated to create a generator of a proper offline campaign and include it in the game? Or have developers decided to ditch the buyers who prefer offline mode? Could anybody tell me, please. 2
yeikov Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 (edited) Still evolving, but just in case you don't know it: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/19183-introducing-pat-wilson-campaign-generator-bos/ There's also this: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/17397-check-out-il2-career-generator-ex-il2commander-campaign-russ/ Both are different but very nice tools for offline players, in my opinion Edited January 17, 2016 by yeikov

Vendigo Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) Thank you for your replies, but I already know about that. But my point is - this game costs 80 dollars and the developers miss out the main part of it! You have to use MODS to play a simple offline campaign!! Do you really consider this normal? The cost doesn`t bother me but I agree that the campaign is not as good as it should be. Missions are quite entertaining usually but there is no campaign around them. It is basically advanced quick mission builder. 3rd party applications are awesome and I am grateful for the guys who made them but that kind of system should be included in game. 2
Juri_JS Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 I've said repeatedly that I would be interested in building scripted campaigns for BoS, but obviously the devs have no intention to add this capability. That's one of the reasons why I won't buy BoM anytime soon. 2

It's irrelevant whether or not we think this is normal, as Pat's program is easy to use and generates excellent missions. Yes, it's a mod, but it's an excellent one.
LLv34_Vellu Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I wait also when we will get real oline campaing tools. My oppinion is that the most interesting missions what I never have flown was old IL2's COOPS of online wars.

And anyway, good campaigns should included in the default version (provided that the author agrees obviously) so that they can count towards unlocking, or get an associated medal for instance. Adding good user-made content in official patches is indeed an interesting idea. This would make the game more attractive for new customers without much additional work for the devs. It would also solve the problem, that only a very small number of BoS/BoM owners actually downloads user-made content, because they never visit the forum and are not aware of it. 6

I agree, the decision was just about as wierd as letting you fly the plane with a mouse... 2
Juri_JS Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Quote from Han in the questions for developers thread regarding a scripted campaign mode: In a day when someone will show a realy interesting campaign - we will develop new game mode (static campaign) shortly as envelope for it.
Comes Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 There are already 2 excellent Mission Packs by you and the Mission Packs by Veteran are also pretty much awesome...Only to name a few. Is that not enough? I really don't understand why they have not done the scripted campaign mode. It should not be difficult to implement and even RoF had one with multiple campaigns. 1
74_jim_nihilist Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 (edited) How much more do they need? I really had high hopes for BOM, but meh. Next time round they have to show more effort or no money from me. Edited May 30, 2016 by 74_jim_nihilist
