BSS_Stel Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 (edited) I have installed and reinstalled PWCG 1.1 several times now, following both the "Read Me" instructions as well as Requiem's YouTube vid. I had no problems at all until I get to the part where I have to generate a mission, but when I do, it immediately comes up with an error message saying to check the "PWCGErrorLog.txt." I attached two of them below.. Any ideas as to what I could be doing wrong? (BTW, I have PWCG for ROF and it is working fine, so I do not believe it is a computer/Java issue.) v/r Stel PWCGErrorLog.txt PWCGErrorLog2.txt Edited January 17, 2016 by BSS_Stel
PatrickAWlson Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 See: PWCG Quick Start Quide IMPORTANT NOTE: For reporting to work properly, it is crucial the logs are enabled in the Startup.cfg file. If not, the program cannot present you a debrief. In the left window the folder where file exists, to the right is the file opened. Default is set to 0, so change that to 1:
BSS_Stel Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 Thanks for the response Pat! I changed the Mission Text Log value to a "1" when I first installed. I double checked after each install just to make sure I had saved it properly before closing and I had. It is still a "1." Must be something else but I'm stumped. v/r Stel
PatrickAWlson Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Looked at the error logs and that is something different. Can you give me the squadron and date?
BSS_Stel Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 Rgr. The Squadron is 283 IAD, flying the Yak-1 out of Pitomniks. The start date is 01/01/42 (default). My first and second attempt were the exaxt same except for the date. The date I tried to start was 01/04/42.
PatrickAWlson Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 OK - that is a known issue with that squadron. The problem is due to an incorrect airfield assignment. I have it fixed in 1.2 but I have not yet released that version. Solution: pick a different squadron.
BSS_Stel Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 Tks Pat! Will give that a try. I was just testing the Beta and it works fine, so must be the squadron. Appreciate! v/r Stel
BSS_Stel Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 FYI, I changed the squadron in v1.1 as you suggested. It works fine now. Thanks!! v/r Stel
310_cibule Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Hi. I am new to PWCG It doesn't work for me. Any help? Thanks in advance P.S. Does PWCG allow to fly as a Ju 88 pilot?
PatrickAWlson Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 rof.campaign.exception.PWCGIOException: ..\data\Multiplayer\Cooperative\Jurij Amazhov 1942-01-01.mission (Systém nemůže nalézt uvedenou cestu) at rof.campaign.io.MissionFile.writeMission(MissionFile.java:207) Multiplayer\Cooperative? That's odd.
Yogiflight Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 You can fly the Ju88. Choose it as one of your aircrafts and look for a bomber squadron, that is flying the Ju88.
310_cibule Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Okey. I can neither generate a mission (see the log above) nor can see any bomber squadron with Ju 88 on the list (ver. 1.2.1.) Pat, it writes (in Czech) that System cannot find the given path. I will try out deleting and reinstalling PWCG. We'll see what's gonna happen. I would love to give your programme a try.
Yogiflight Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I don`t know a lot about computer stuff, so I did not really read your error log, but I read in Patrick`s post of the Multiplayer\Cooperative, which I, then saw in the first line of your error log. Maybe you made the same mistake, I did, when I started PWCG. On the start screen of PWCG, under "Configuration" in the "User Preferences", did you change coop = 0 to coop = 1? This won`t work, because BOS doesn`t support coop. And for the Ju88, when you start a new campaign, you, of course, have to choose the german side, by clicking on the german flag at the left side. When you then change the role from fighter to bomber the first bomber squadron that appears is the I./KG1, equipped with Ju88.

I really didn't know how #1 appeared at coop but it was there. Changing it to #0 solved the problem. The other issue remained unsolved. Although I have premium versions of both BoS and BoM and all planes selected in PWCG I neither see the I./KG 1 with Ju 88 (I./KG27 is the first on my list and five others all with He 111) nor can choose the Moscow map (whenever I click on Moscow map option the screen goes back to the main menu), Thx for your concern, P.S. One snapshot from today's Pardubice Air Show. A flying Schwalbe with roaring engines is a real beauty, Edited May 28, 2016 by 310_cibule
Yogiflight Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 (edited) Hi cibule, one more thought. Can it be, that you don`t have the actual version of PWCG? For flying the Ju88 you need the Beta release Unified PWCG. If you still have only He111 as german bomber you should still have the 1.2.1 version. BTW the moscow map is not yet introduced to PWCG. DukeMcFishy Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 (edited) Hello. Sorry for necro-ing this topic, but I have some trouble with PWCG that is related to the topic title. I installed it according to the instructions (unpacked the zip in the Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad folder). I edited the startup.cfg file to mission_text_log = 1 Ran PWCGBos.exe as administrator (to make sure), choose the aircrafts that I own, created a campaign and choose a squadron that has a plane that I own (The squad flies the BF109 F-4 in this instance) and generated the campaign. Clicked on the "Mission" button in PWCG and it created a mission. I accept and start IL-2 BoS through Steam. When I look in the BoS ingame menu at missions it doesn't show the generated mission. I checked the IL-2 Sturmovic Battle of Stalingrad\data\Missions folder and it does show two files: DukeMcFishy 1942-01-01.eng and DukeMcFishy 1942-01-01.mission. This makes me think that PWCG indeed has generated the mission, but somehow the game doesn't recognize it? I'm rather puzzled on what I did wrong. Maybe I overlooked something? At no point gave PWCG me an error or anything. Thanks for reading and your time. Edit: I choose a different date and squadron and now it seems to be working. Not sure why that fixed it, but hey it works now! Edited June 29, 2016 by DukeMcFishy
PatrickAWlson Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Could be a case where PWCG thinks everything is fine but BoS does not. Can you post the mission and the .eng file? Also, takeleave for a week and generate another mission. Does this one work?
DukeMcFishy Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I had to recreate the problem due to that the original file was lost because of me trying to make PWCG work. It won't let me attach the .eng file, but this is what it contains. 0:DukeMcFishy 1942-01-01 SCRAMBLE 1:<br>I./JG53 stationed at Sekretov<br> 1942-01-01<br>Primary Objective Incoming enemy aircraft are near our airbase. Get airborne and destroy them! 2:Brought to you by PWCGCampaign 3:Balloon 4:Take Off 5:Way Point 6:Way Point 7:Way Point After taking leave for a week it then indeed does generate a mission that the game recognizes. I guess that is a good workaround to the problem. Cheers for the help!
PatrickAWlson Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Something in the first file made BoS unhappy. I know that non-English characters can cause that. It tends to be a pretty painful process to figure it out - remove things until the game recognizes the file and then isolate the cause.

Vishnu Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 New to IL2 looking everywhere for help.... my apologies.
PatrickAWlson Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 10 hours ago, Vishnu said: New to IL2 looking everywhere for help.... my apologies. Two things: 1. Can you describe the problem in a little more detail. Are missions not being generated? Are the missions being generated but you cannot fly them? 2. There is a "Report Error" button on the PWCG campaign menu that will zip up your campaign and other data files. Press that button and post the zip here. If I have a few more details and your campaign I can usually figure out what is causing the problem. 1
8ELT_Grzesiek Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 (edited) 13 hours ago, Vishnu said: New to IL2 looking everywhere for help.... my apologies. First, you have nothing to apologize for. I have had this problem myself for days until today. Now I will give a diagram of the procedure. Of course, I assume that you can create a campaign and the problem arises because it is not known where the "Accept Mission" tab is. I have the impression that the generator interface has changed a bit and this tab is really "deep", but to the point, here are the places you need to visit in order, just be patient when you confirm the mission, it takes a while to generate it, at least on my old, cluttered computer . Press the tabs in sequence: 1) Mission 2) Briefing Map 3) Waypoint 4) Pilot Selection 5) Accept Mission Edited January 13, 2021 by 8ELT_Grzesiek 1
Vishnu Posted January 16, 2021 Posted January 16, 2021 Thanks for the responses......I did alot of trial and error with my son...he helped alot! Managed to get things running no problem!! Thanks Sooooooo much PWCG...absolutely love it! Can't believe the dedication to this sim to make it.
