bzc3lk Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Magic F-15 Ensign Robert "Bob" T. King in his damaged TBM-3 'Avenger' White 113 of VT-82, USS Bennington (CV-20), 18th of February 1945. A mid-air collision resulted in the loss of nearly half the port wing, in addition to a five foot section of fuselage decking immediately aft of the turret. Bob King skilfully retained control of his doomed TBM long enough to make a successful water landing.
Dakpilot Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 (edited) Main explanation is that the visual damage model does not exactly replicate aerodynamic damage model effect maybe is game engine/performance limitation or simply requires huge coding work, or maybe even a small bug with P-40 visual damage compared to actual Although, see this thread for pics of real similar A/C flying in same condition *EDIT* pics already posted above Cheers Dakpilot Edited January 15, 2016 by Dakpilot
Monostripezebra Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 one half missing? You haven´t been damaged until you got 2 half wings missing, roight? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azxEFpU56ss&index=2&list=PL471idyHCCK9b6xehEZdcCZo74vMGkYpk 2
BlitzPig_EL Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Common issue with the DN engine all the way back to the early days of RoF. The HP 0/400 would fly without it's wings.
Y-29.Silky Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 This happened to me in a Stuka, landed it with half a wing missing. It was one of the most satisfying events I've had in this game. It took a lot of patience to land it though. 1
