I'm not sure if this is a relatively new product (using the freetrack software) but it's about time we had some competition against the overpriced track ir clip.

Does anyone own this or know of anyone who has tried it. Looks pretty decent.

Mmmm looks quite affordable. Some people do not like having a wired hat, but for that price they deserve a try.

You can buy a clip instead.

Looks wildly expensive.  I have never had a problem with the reflector clip that comes with the TrackIR...

Seems pretty expensive, you could get the same result by building it yourself, it is fairly easy and will come out A LOT cheaper.

Word of warning though, dealing with any kind of DIY head tracking will require some patience and determination on your part, many who complain about DIY head tracking performance did not take the time to really learn how to properly work with the software and as a result, they got dodgy performance.

I spent a couple of weeks doing small adjustments to the settings here and there before I finally got it just right.

It's way too expensive for a normal hat with IR leds attached to it. for $100 you can buy

a Trackir and you don't need to deal with the opentrack software

Notice that EDTracker is not 6DOF.

Similar to this TrackHat is Delan Clip.

Or what Replika Grips promise, the "iRTrack":

This - if released - besides "wireless" with rechargeable battery LED clip promise a WebCam better adapted with filter based on photographic industry material,

but as always seems the visionary guy put the "cart before the horse".  :)

None of these is a new solution in headtrack, just better LED/WebCam clip for OpenTrack(FreeTrack), thus not "better" solution than TrackIR - dedicated hardware/software -

but they work, if the user have patience to configure, as stated above (I did not have "patience" with TrackIR and went back to the old HAT...  ).
