Hi folks,

I'm going straight to the point: Friday Night Bomber Flights Mission 25 January 15th @ 20:00 UTC: Battlefront!

FNBF(Friday Night Bomber Flights) is a multiplayer Dynamic campaign created by the gents of DBS(Dedicated Bomber Squadron).

This campaign is focused on cooperation and common goals towards the end result, that is of course: the enjoyment. Axis and VVS have their own objectives. There are cap flights, armed recon, transport missions, airfield suppression, bombing, escort...etc  for any available aircraft in BOS/BOM: Bombers, Attack aircraft, Fighters and even in some cases Armor.

This campaign is focused in Player vs Player, only being AI controlled ground units. As per the server rules, and being a private/password one, an appropriate behavior is expected. Each participant receives a detailed briefing prior to the mission that differs for each side. The missions are properly balanced to let everybody enjoy the time. There is a ROE(Rules Of Engagement) in each of the briefings that details even further what you can do and what you don't.

The server is set in Expert mode, no navigation aids, just you and your plane. We use the BOS teamspeak server and meet before the flight to discuss details of the mission or introduction of new folks. Is highly recommended to be on coms for a better coordination. You can come alone or with your squad if the slots are still open. The server slots are limited to about 62 to have an action packed missions with appropiate ground/air forces on both ends. Human gunners are not allowed unless are participating players already being killed on their aircarfts. All of this is described on the ROE.

As I said guys, is a nice experience to participate in this kind of events but sometimes I guess the people don't even know they exist due to they are in sub forums that could be unknown for new users. The topic can be found here http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/16460-friday-night-bomber-flights/page-31 andyou are free to ask here or there for any clarification.

There are also slots available for the Axis side but the VVS is the one that some times need more gents to fly with. At the moment I'm writing this there are available: Pe2(x6), Lagg(x3), Yak1(x5) and 3 T34 for ground attack and recon.

I just want to do a heads up before this go again to the appropriate sub forum. Hope to see some of you there.

Regards,

Man, i would be down to fly VVS if this were happening on Saturday. As it is, I get out of work about three hours after you finish. It's a shame because, as you said, it really is a great experience.

+1 I got a bomber group looking at coming over here as well but at 3PM EST we are still at work. We like to fly events, eg: ATAG Bomber Campaigns, SOW and so on. Not into the rinse and repeat type of gameplay.  A US timezone event would be nice for us VVS drivers. Or could you move the time up a few hours? Give us a chance to get home and fly too?

There are a lot of us U.S. time zone players who would love to join these events.  I would be willing to work with whomever to help organize a similar event on a Saturday or Sunday for all U.S. and Euro players who would wish to join.  However I have very limited knowledge in creating campaigns or missions in this game and would need copious amounts of help plus a server to run it on.

Maybe if we spread the word we can get enough support to attract the attention of the FNBF guys to help us organize a similar U.S./weekend oriented event?

Great, we just need to figure out what else we need in order to make this happen.

S! p3zman, and to the 71st as well. We enjoy working and flying with your squad in SOW. What else would we need? I can't help Jade_Monkey with the ME. I have no clue how it works. If we can spread the word to the other US time zone squads and pilots and get enough numbers maybe we can ask use the same mission the FNBF guys use for their run. If they want to share it, to get it started. It could be the NAFNBF! So if you can't make the original time you could make the NA time. Just a thought.

Hi fellas,

I know that the FNBF guys work very hard to do those missions. You need people with skills in ME and the will to sacrifice spare time in order to get others enjoy their work. I know that somebody ask them about to do something similar for NA but they have limited time to prepare the standard FNBFs.

The Luftwaffe also needs good pilots all the time  ;) Everybody's welcome  :salute:

If this was moved to Saturday's you would always have full sessions. The problem is that all of us here in the US are at work when these missions run on Friday.

I'd love to fly my PE-2 with all of you, but the mission is over before I've even left work.

Lets start our own US missions, so nobody has to miss out on these great battles!

Im looking into creating MP bombing missions and hosting the servers.

Once i get that sorted out, i would need some help creating teams, briefings and managing the community

Sounds like a plan JM, can we do Saturdays as suggested above? And maybe a volunteer or two to help with the ME?

Bumping this thread, we are going up against a full Luftwaffe rank but there is room for a pair of Yaks and three Il-2 pilots - the latter can be either 1941 versions for those who own BoM, or the 1942 version for those with BoS only. Organised night mission, so a great opportunity to start some fires across the steppes to light up the landscape :)

Just write your preferred aircraft pick here: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/16460-friday-night-bomber-flights/page-41
