Mysticpuma Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 In 2015 I had the chance to meet up with Fighter Pilot Eric Carter the last surviving member of 81. Squadron RAF (who flew Hurricanes with the Russians at Vaenga and Murmansk) on another occasion Lancaster Bomber Pilot Ivan Castle of 100. Squadron RAF. On the 8th of January 2016 I was invited to give a talk at the RAFA and asked if I could show some of the interviews as part of the presentation. I chose just a few of the anecdotes that they both regaled me with and edited them, then showed them at the event. Sadly in October 2015, Ivan passed away but his family who were at the presentation thanked me for preserving his memory and some of his anecdotes for their future generations to watch. These two 'short' videos are just glimpses of the conversations we had. I will upload the complete interviews in the next few weeks (Eric about 3 hours which cover extensively his time at Murmansk and Ivan around 2 hours) but don't have time to do video overlays, image overlays or cgi re-enactments, they will be just the 'raw' interviews with a host of interesting information revealed. Anyway, for now, here are the two videos I showed at the RAFA presentation, each is around 10 minutes long. Ivan: Eric: Cheers, Neil 4
