Dakpilot Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Although for original IL-2 this guide for bombing with Sturmovik has some useful info that could be transferred into the BoS world http://www.derrierloisirs.fr/il2/bdd2012/documentation/Il2Bombing.pdf I have no idea how the figures will relate, but some of the theory should be relevant, I leave it here for your interest Credit to 249th Kernov Cheers Dakpilot 2
dpyro Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I just do what I did from War Thunder simulator mode in the CAS role: aim about 2/3 down the gunsight, get as low as you can to the target, put the plane into a shallow dive, and try to slide (depends on the terrain) a bomb into the side of the tank. With practice I was able to destroy a large amount of medium and heavy tanks this way.
Retaliator Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Thanks for the doc. Impossible to drop at such low altitudes after the fuse introduction for VVS. Bomb won't explode as fuse won't engage. I find very hard to bomb precisely now, and against moving targets. The solution tu put a 5 sec delay seems to be a workaround only for static targets. More informations and tutorials on bombing in BOS are much appreciated.

If you have trouble with the fuse being too long, try combing up from behind the moving target's vector so you can still slide a bomb into them with a longer delay.
Fidelity Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 It's not that hard. You just need to aim 5 seconds ahead of the target. This is actually pretty easy if they are driving down a road with trees as you can measure the time it takes them to move between the trees which gives you a pretty accurate sight picture. I typically glide bomb and will drop a bomb between 30-100 meters. I very rarely miss. The 5 second fuse ensures the bomb not only goes off, but also doesn't kill me in the process.
