dburne Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Hey gang, So I went ahead and upgraded from IE10 to IE11 a couple of days ago. Since updating, I can no longer " quote" a post I am replying to. When I click on quote, it takes me to the reply box with nothing quoted. Just curious if anyone else is having this issue? I realize I am probably in the minority here, however I really do prefer IE for my browser , guess I am just so used to it. The only thing I could think of to try, was adding this site to compatibility view settings - did not make a difference. Not having any issue with any of the other forums I subscribe to.
DD_bongodriver Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Exactly the same problem here, checking the IP boards software forums it seems it is a known problem with IE11
dburne Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 Ah thanks Bongo guess that would explain it, hopefully a fix will be forthcoming before too long.
Emgy Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) If you install Firefox/Chrome/Opera, you can import bookmarks and settings from IE. Imho that would be the best fix, to quit that swiss cheese boat of a browser. Edited November 17, 2013 by Calvamos
dburne Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 I understand that and can certainly do so for this site if it does not get fixed soon enough, I however have been using this swiss cheese boat for a long time and am quite comfortable with it. Like I said, I am probably in the minority, but that is my preference.
Zak Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Thanks for the heads up, dburnette. We'll see what we can do. 1
Cybermat47 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 No, DON'T use Internet Explorer! I had to be sent to an asylum after using it once!
BFsSmurfy Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I had IE11 on for a day, constant website fails, and IE restarts, utter rubbish so I went back to Firefox.
DD_fruitbat Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I use IE for 2 things, 1) to download chrome on a fresh install of windows & 2) to use SEOW mission planner as you cant plot flights and ground movements in other browsers. Other than that, chrome ftw...
Cybermat47 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Ps. I was a longtime fan of Firefox but have recently switched to Chrome as it is SO much faster. Same
ST_ami7b5 Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 I have both, Firefox and Chrome, use Chrome 99%
BMA_West Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Thanks for the heads up, dburnette. We'll see what we can do. Thanks, that fixed it for me anyway! Good to go on IE11 now
dburne Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 Thanks for the heads up, dburnette. We'll see what we can do. Works now for me as well, thanks!
