SgtExo Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 For a couple of days now, my pedals are registering ghost inputs, but only in IL2 BoS. I cannot seem to find anything about this around and when checking the calibration of the pedals outside of the game, they do not read any unwanted input.
andyw248 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Is this for rudder or for brakes? If you see the ghost input for brakes - I'm sure you are aware of different brake settings for toe brakes (for German planes, as well as for the I-16 and P-40) and handle brakes (for most Russian planes and the Mc 202). Have you assigned both to your pedals? 1
SgtExo Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 It is for the rudder, the brakes are working fine. When I do not touch them, ghost inputs, mostly right pedal gets put in, but as soon as I use it, my command overrides any previous ghost input, then goes back to doing its stuff when I go to neutral.
andyw248 Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Sounds like a potentiometer problem. I never had this issue with my CH pedals (which I bought about 8 years ago). But I had similar issues with joysticks in the past. One thing you can do is to define a dead zone, either in the CH Control Manager or in BoS in the key assignment for the rudder. Basically it adds a little area in the center where slight input oscillations from the hardware are suppressed. And then of course you can apply a "physical shock" to the pedals; with my pedals I once had an issue where I could only apply left rudder, but no right rudder. In my case some stomping on the right pedal (slightly harder than usual) did the trick and "unstuck" the right pedal. But - please don't hold me responsible if this breaks your pedals
SgtExo Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 The problem is that it is only in BoS that the pedals are acting up. In the CH control manager, it stays neutral. I might just have to un/re-install the game and see if that works.
Sokol1 Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Look at game controls assignments, sounds like you have other controller axis assigned for rudder (YAW) control besides the pedal, what can cause the undesired movement.
