I would rather use the idea of adding bonus points for success with inferior planes than adding AI wingmen to fighters on dogfight servers. I would rather encourage actual people to team up instead of creating AI wingmen to fighters. While bonus points with inferior planes might not mean much for most people, it could attract some people to fly these planes and reward them more on scoreboard for being able to do things with these planes.

About AI otherwise, I am not against idea of server adding occasion AI bomber flights or transport flights or possibly human bombers being able to request AI escort, but don't like the idea of AI wingmen for fighters on dogfight servers. Coop would be again different story of course.

There is actually a surprising amount of players flying laggs. Some of them very successfully, take a look at the player Bender who have been at the top of wing of liberty stat a number of time.

 

And please no IA.

 

On top of that, most Allied pilots on page 2 flew mostly the LaGG-3 and the La-5

I think this is leading off what the OP tried to propose. To reliterate his idea I'd say he asks for a reward / benefit for people to fly weaker aircrafts. This proposal (totally ignoring pilot skill and personal interests) is not too bad actually but very difficult to acchieve without conflicting with player interests or gameplay.

 

The AI idea has poped up several times also in regards to bombers spawning with ai escorts and / or other ai bombers in formation and has been droped for same reasons every time.

 

As for me I fly basicly everything - some more than others - and only need self satisfaction for it in return but that doesn't obviously not count for everybody.

Right back at ya!  The difference is that you have the option to fight against AI in SP.  Play quick missions if you want to fight AI.  I despise AI.  And that is still true no matter now many times I say it.

 

More options are always a plus, if there was a Server with AI flights i will fly on it and you won´t and thats it
