Lag time for controls and some stuttering of video

I finally got this game running, and my contollers are a MS Sidewinder 2 and CH Propedals.  I have noticed 2 problems.

1.  When viewing my static aircraft (a Bf 109) externally, I see a slight time lag between the time I move the controls and when the control surfaces actually move.  Needless to say, this causes delays in response which make flying even more difficult.  I am responding but by the time the surfaces move, it can be too late.  This lag only occurs in BOS but not in any older "stimulators" such as Forgotten Battles or MS X.   Any solutions?

2.  There is a stuttering effect in the video when "flying" which also contributes to time lags.  I also see some tiny sparkles (like flashing pixels) when flying.  They could be there when taking off but I'm concentrating so much on control that I haven't noticed them.  The stuttering, herky-jerky video is most noticeable at low altitude (greater landscape detail?) and it, along with  control surface time lags, makes landing impossible.

I'm thinking my PC might be lacking something so I am listing it's specifications.  Comments are most appreciated.

Hello Doc,

By the sound of it I think you're system is being pushed to its limits by BoS.  The "sparkles/flashing pixels" you describe are certainly a symptom of inadequate graphics card performance.  The graphics memory of 512mb on your card is simply not enough for this game.  Your monitor's screen resolution will also be pretty demanding for this graphic card running this game.

The overall system memory of 8 gigs of ram is fine.  Is your cpu running at 2.7ghz?  This is the stock clock speed of your processor.  Again, this processor is at the lower end of the system requirements of BoS.  I think some sort of turbo mode might be available which should push the speed up to 3.2ghz.  This would make some improvement to the performance of your game and should sort out the control lag you are experiencing.

Processor speed and processor type really make a difference to the performance of this game.  I have an older Intel processor which runs at a stock 2.8ghz. Running at this speed, BoS really struggles.  I can reliably overclock my cpu to 3.8ghz which makes a huge difference to overall game performance.

Perhaps try running the game at a lower screen resolution and see if that makes much of a difference?  However, I think at the very least you'll need to upgrade your graphics card.

Good luck :salute:

The Minimum Vram listed in Game specs is 1024mb

With half that, and running at 1080p you will run into issues, and trying to use anything other than low settings may overload Vram leading to stuttering, the sparkles when on the ground point to overload of GPU processor, lowering res to 720p may help

MSI afterburner is a good tool to monitor Vram useage in real time and other aspects of graphic card performance

Your CPU although very good for most games, is a bit slow in its single thread performance (needed for high compute sims) (ie speed) although 2.7/3.2 GHZ sounds reasonable you cannot really use this measurement between different generations or between AMD and Intel, for example the Intel i5 4440s (@2,8ghz) is nearly twice as fast as Phenom 2 X6 in comparative single core performance

Although it sounds counterproductive try turning off AMD Turbo mode,(in BIOS) When under high load it can switch on and off quickly and lead to stuttering, many people have found benefits in doing this  (only AMD CPU's)

Good afternoon guys.

Where with MSI Afterburner is VRAM usage monitored. Is it GPU memory usage? What is GPU usage?

Also it appears to me that my micro stuttering is only when when aircraft starts to turn in front of me .... I am on or starting to move to to their 3/9 line. Its just weird because its not right throughout the game its just in this scenario.

Regards.

Yes, GPU memory usage is VRAM usage, GPU usage is the whole load put on the processing power of GPU
