coconut Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 42. Coalition victory points in MP can be reduced by 50 by achieving special goals set by mission designer. How is that done? I quick glance over the mission editor hasn't showed anything that would indicate how a mission designer can set up special goals. Also interesting: 43. Victory can be achieved by completing a Mission Primary Objective specified by mission designer. That should help with the "mission stalemate" confusion after the mission end due to the primary objective being fulfilled. I haven't had time to try it yet, anyone done it? Another interesting thing: 6. New multiplayer scenario 'River clash' added. In this scenario tank and aircraft players must work together to cross the rivers and eventually reach the enemy airfield. Not looked into it yet, but it might contain interesting bits. Could be worth a look (save a track, open msnbin in mission designer).
Menacing_Ferrets Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) Sorry Coco, I always run custom mode on our server so I can kill that accursed time limit. This negates the points in game. Vaal's Il2 stats has always awarded a win based on that primary objective completion, or your set point value per coalition. I often see stalemate in game while the Il2 stats awards the win correctly. Also killing ships in game awards no ground kill, yet is logged correctly as a ship kill in the generated mission log file, Il2 stats again correctly tallies these. Only thing the Il2 stats doesn't do AT ALL is tally any player tank sorties which is kinda a bummer. Also the pilot ranking is heavily air-to-air biased. I just have to deal with this as it's all I have. That in game message saying the mission will end in X minutes isn't the only reason I can't stand the timer, but it is a big reason. Best of luck figuring out what they mean by that first point. Il2 stats adds 25% of point value per sortie if one flys on the winning coalition. It'd be nice also if I hit myself with my tail gunner I don't get that nasty friendly fire tag for the rest of my time in that current mission. as far a river clash thanks for the reminder, I forgot all about that one. This being the latest MP mission made by the dev team, no doubt there ARE some neat tricks in there utilizing up to date mission building methods. Edited January 8, 2016 by Menacing_Ferrets
coconut Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 After looking at a few ranked missions, it seems it's done with the mission objective MCU, choosing a secondary objective. Not sure if the mission secondary objective number matters. Sometimes different objectives use different numbers, and sometimes they use different ones. Still a bit confused about that.
