II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Dear Devs, Please, under no circumstances, introduce any new aircraft. I have spent a fortune updating my already expansive AC library to include the East and Amazon is making a pretty penny off of my purchases. The wifey has complained the bookshelves are running out of space as I have moved some of her books to storage to make room. Also it only creates endless arguments online. I suppose you could go to the Med as I have plenty of materials on those AC - except the Italian jobs. Even the Pacific would have me pickup a volume or twenty. If you stay in the East I will have to pick up the full set of Black Cross - Red Star and that will, at least, be through ebay and I may be able to hide it for a while. Thanks, Murf 5
6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Are variants of existing OK? I want 5 guns in the nose of Me LaGG-3. Just imagine the carnage of 2 ShkaS, 2 UBS and 1 ShvaK concentrating their fire on a helpless Ju-88 with precision and accuracy.
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 Got a PM for book recomendations. This is a quick glance: Well my crown jewel is Warplanes of the Third Reich/Galahad/Green. The Planes and Pilots series is light on text but contains numerous illustrations/Histoire & Collections I love the entire Aero Detail series and the Fw 190D was my first issue. Surprisingly good is Midway 1942/Osprey/Stille For a bit of whimsy the graphic novel The Grand Duike/Archaia/ Yann-Hugault is amazingly illustrated - the story is necesarilly comic book-ey. Real aircraft flying is covered by Stick and Rudder/McGraw Hill/Langewische The Men Who Killed the Luftwaffe/Stackpole/Stout is an excellent read. Non airwar: An Army at Dawn/Henry Holt/Atkinson is an outstanding read and details how bad the US was at conducting war in the early going. (volume 2 is a bore/volume 3 again excellent) And online combat is explained in an unsurpassed manner by Air Combat Manoueuvres/Classic/Thompson and Smith
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 It is decidedly tongue in cheek. My preference has been duly noted in several threads. I'm happy with wherever we go for one more installment even if it's not the Med.
bivalov Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 (edited) i thought that you WANT any new aircraft, but seems that it is just my misunderstanding well, anyway, now i have some thoughts about possible future Edited March 28, 2016 by bivalov
1CGS LukeFF Posted January 7, 2016 1CGS Posted January 7, 2016 My library has grown considerably over the years, due to both the IL2 and Silent Hunter games.
Feathered_IV Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Mine tends to grow in a way that fills the gaps that flight sims do not cover. In that respect I seem to have amassed a huge amount of material on RAF Bomber Command.
Freycinet Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 The Men Who Killed the Luftwaffe/Stackpole/Stout is an excellent read. Thanks, downloaded a sample of this one for my Kindle, looking forward to checking it out.
xvii-Dietrich Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 The wifey has complained the bookshelves are running out of space as I have moved some of her books to storage to make room. Only some? The solution then is simply to move the rest of her books into storage. You get more aircraft books and we can all have more aircraft to fly. Win-win, if you ask me. (And, in giddy anticipation, I'll start with a request, just to get in before anyone else does... see below). Dear Devs... As Murf obviously still has room on his bookshelf, can we please have a Heinkel He-115 seaplane. Thanks.
