selling Thrustmaster Warthog extensions

Good morning.

Great simple looking design, well done.

Question if you please:

I own a TM Cougar Hotas (Ian J's Uber II Nxt Mod on stick) and I am wondering how the extension fairs on it and if it will be too sloppy with my stick mod?

Also, are there any WW1-type sticks out there? Seems wrong flying a Sopwith with a  F16 Hotas    ?

No, players want joystick grips with number of buttons similar to keyboards ~104. ?

Are Spitfire spade grips around (the more close to Sopwith), but is expensive due (very) small production, and few players make their own grips.

I see, makes sense about having extra buttons.

Now a spitfire stick would be marvellous... Sure they cost an arm and leg.

I still have an old Sidewinder FF.

Anyone else on the TM Cougar/extension question?

I have a 20cm extension on the way for my U2-NXT Cougar. If it’s no good then I will most likely get a Virpil base for it.

I’ll let you know what I think of it when it arrives.

I have the 20 cm extension plus spring from Sahaj and am very happy with it! Flying feels much more realistic and, especially, more precise!
My suggestion to Sahaj, however, would be to make the cables two centimeters longer for extensions of 15 cm and more.
Thank you very much!

Well, I received the 20cm extension and in my opinion the NXT springs are too light. Practically all of the progressive feeling is gone.

So, option 1 is to find some heavier springs which work with the NXT. I actually still have some spare springs which came with it. I can't remember if they're the same as the ones installed, lighter, or heavier. I've had the thing for >10 years and my memory is rusty.

Option 2 is to switch to a Virpil base. I would probably also adapt my Cougar throttle for USB and replace my gameport Simpeds with some MFGs. So more $$$ and decommissioning good working hardware ?. Also I would need to confirm that I can replicate all the config I currently have in Foxy somehow.

Anyway, food for thought...

I've now been using my WH stick with 7.5cm Sahaj extension for a few weeks, and couldn't be happier with it.The resistance is perfect for me, with original WH spring.

Sahaj suggested posting pictures of his product in final setup. I'm reluctant to post these, as they're taken on a very cheap 'pre-paid' phone and the resolution is atrocious. But I'm not about to get a new phone, so these will have to do.

Note my crude modification to my antique table, which has to be angled to fit it into the caravan.

Hi,

I want to ask everybody who uses 15 cm extension. Are you happy with it after all these years?  Is the length exactly what you needed or you think you should change it ( or already changed it) to a different one? Shorter or longer.

Hi,
I ordered the Green spring with the O-ring, and hoodies kit. Sahaj contacted me quickly regarding the current shipping situation and I paid for the extra UPS shipping. The item arrived in 3 days, from Poland to Wisconsin, super fast. It was well packed and after installing it my Warthog is much nicer to fly. I'm not fighting the overly heavy resistance of the stock spring making flight much smoother and comfortable. Excellent product, wish I would of found it sooner, highly recommended.

Depends on how you intend to mount the stick and how much throw you want.

If you have an adjustable mount sure the 15 CM should work well as you can adjust the height to where it feels good for you.

Me, I prefer my arm to be about perpendicular to my body.

Now that I use a Gunfighter Mk III Pro L , which has a 200mm extension, I lowered the height with my Monster Tech adjustable mount to get

my arm about right for me.  The extension on the Pro L is 200mm, but is curved so overall height is little less.

I used to use my Warthog with a 7.5 CM extension, and certainly prefer the longer extension that I have now with my Gunfighter.

The extension I used to use with the Warthog was a black by Sahaj, and the quality was superb.

I don't remember how many times I disassembled my TM Warthog HOTAS joystick trying to make it less stiff.  The best fix I used to have was replacing the 4 small springs with longer ones.  But still too stiff.  I'd relate to the tension I can feel in the joystick of my friend's actual aircraft and also to the movement I see in in-cockpit videos of Hornet pilots etc.

So eventually I went ahead and splurged 41 Euro on the green spring from Sahaj: https://warthog-extensions-by-sahaj.com/shop/warthog-green-springs/. It arrived about 3 weeks after I ordered it.  Sahaj is in Poland, I'm in Australia.

I installed it yesterday and it's perfect.  There's good recentering still and the effort to flip the A-10C II from side to side is much less.  I was pelting through gullies in Syria with much, much greater accuracy and now it's actually fun, not a mission to go for a flight.  Add that to the new clouds in DCS Open Beta 2.7 and flying in VR and I believe I now have the perfect A-10 (and Harrier and Hornet) set up.

By the way, before buying Sahaj's spring, I commissioned a local spring maker to make me a lighter spring.  They quoted me $80AUD (51 Euro) which is more expensive than Sahaj's - or about the same when you consider freight) plus - they weren't able to get their machine to do it anyway.

Definitely consider getting Sahaj's green spring - well worth it!

I found my standard Warthog joystick too stiff - maybe for aggressive flying it's ok, I don't know - but for smoother flying in GA aircraft or passenger jets I found it hard work. So I ordered Sahaj's green spring. It took about a week to arrive in France from Poland, and was really easy to install once I'd watched Sahaj's YouTube video.

I was really happy with the result - it was exactly what I'd hoped it would be. Delicate movements on the stick are now so much easier to make.

Cheers

Muntz

Hi there,

continuing the story with Warthog MODS, I have created an even lighter spring than the green one, THE YELLOW SPRING - with minimum resistance force.

Check it out, maybe it is something for you 🕹️♠️

Dear fellow pilots! Upon the received feedback from my customers I will be slightly adjusting the spring force of the YELLOW spring to even softer, plus the green spring centering force will be also adjusted 🕹️
