chiliwili69 Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Today I have just mounted the 10 cm Sahaj extension and flied a bit on the ROF: the feeling is SO NICE, smoother and with higher precision. It also allows me to fix the joystick a little bit twisted (~15 degrees) along the z-axis, so it is an easier position for the hand. I have cut and fixed the original metal base of the warthog to a PlaySeat Revolution chair, using the same 8mm screws provided by the chair, resulting in a quite solid base. I attach a couple of pictures. Hopefully I should recieve my peddals in a week!
Mags Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Hello fellow pilots! I wonder how long is a Bf 109 F:s flightstick in total? I have vaccumed the net but I don't find anything. Do the sticks differ between the various versions of the Bf? Also I can't get a clear picture if the stich is mounted on a console or directly to the floor. I tried to calculate the lenght from plastic models and came up with 54-55 cm:s with the KG13. I have one picture with measurements but it doesn't show the whole stick. The reason I'm asking is I about to buy a Warthog and extend it, if Sahaj wants. But maybe it's a bad idea to make THAT long. Thank you for your time, gents!

Hei Mags, The KG13`s height is standard (I can measure it for you in the evening). But it is mounted onto the top of a control column (basically a tube). So if you are looking for the distance between the pivot point and the griping part, it is around 500mm. It can pivot about +/- 20deg on both axises. Since the Warthog can pivot much more I guess, it is not a good idea to extend that much. Not to mention the torque you can make with a half a meter jimmy:) It would destroy your Warthog. The closest you can get if you calculate the resulting stick travel of the real one, measure the max. pivot angle of the warthog and choose an extender which will give you approx. the same travel. Mags Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Hej Vo101_MMaister, Thank you very much for your answer. It is exactly what I needed to know. I wasn't that far of with my 550 mm. If you got the time, please measure it. It would be nice to know. I will follow your suggestion as the Warthog is too expensive to be wrecked in a, let's say, emergency dive!

Gent Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Just received and installed the extension. Very well made and simple in design. I recommend.
milesk Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Interested in obtaining 2 extensions. Not sure yet if 7.5 or 10 cm. Please send following: 1. Cost of each (U.S. Dollars) (please include shipping) 2. How to & to whom to make payment 3. Approx. time of delivery after order is made. Thank you.
71st_AH_Cujo Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) I got the15 cm extension and the included cable from Sahaj few days ago. Installation was a snap and the quality of this product it's great. I highly suggest this mod as the longer throw allows for more precise adjustments and natural feel of the aircraft. Also the warthog center play is highly reduced. Edited February 27, 2014 by Cujo
Razorback Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 (edited) I have to wait until my daughter heads off to med school, I shall build my 109 pit! I have a machine shop ( I do gun work on the side) what are the thread specs on the Warthog? Could I purchase just the extension cable, or better yet just the connectors, so I could make up my own. Not sure how long I want mine yet Edited March 7, 2014 by JV44Razorback
Matt Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 (edited) Because my New Zealandish 3D printed stick extension broke last weekend (after about half a year very infrequent use), i had to order a new one and of course ordered it here from Sahaj. Delivery was very fast, just in time for this update. It's very well machined and fits perfectly. And the possibility to offset it in any direction is just fantastic. I can only recommend buying these extensions from Sahaj. I'm also sure that this one will never break . Edited March 7, 2014 by Matt
flypig Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Simple and durable. I got the 75mm one. Didn't want to increase the throw and lower the resistance too much, just wanted to be able to change the angle. I might raise it just an inch from the floor with some rubber feet. Thanks!
SR603-McMurdo Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Got my 10cm extention last week absolutely fantastick what a difrance , the engraving is very nicely done too , thanks so mutch for the exalent service and quality of work love the fact there's no hassle with offsetting the stick grip I just used some clear silicon to lock the threads in place and no problems over the last week. A longest way up shortest way down S!
saunder Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 I got my 15cm extension last week and it takes a short while to adjust but once you do the feeling of control is great. The quality is good it takes only a few minutes to fit it.
nirvi Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 (edited) I just received the 7.5cm extension. Really happy with it! Fits perfectly, set up in less than 30 seconds. After a few test flights I am really impressed with the extension, feels a lot better and it is vercy precise. Thanks! Edited April 14, 2014 by nirvi

petpeter Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Came in a week:) The extension is great works perfect! 10cm is a good balance for DCS FC3 and MI-8 as well:) Thank You very much, geat service and help! Keep up ) Bye, Peter
DanielTHK Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I got my 15cm extension 2 days ago and I´m very happy with it. It fits perfectly and the greater precision is incredible and very useful especially with the DCS Huey. Thank you very much for this great extension! Greetings, Daniel
MarkHawk Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Hey SahajI'm interested in a 10cm or 15cm version with cable if possible. Was hoping I could get a quote for each with shipping to the United States (90028 zip code) in US currency.thanks and take care
Panzerlang Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I received my 15cm extension yesterday. Installing it is not going smoothly. I cannot get the stick grip seated sufficiently to prevent it from twisting even after tightening the knurled knob. I've made sure the threads are clean, no burrs, etc. MarkHawk if I cannot get it installed in the next day or two I'll sell it to you for what I paid ($120) and ship it UPS from MN. You need to file a groove in it to match the raised bit on the Warthog, then it'll sit further down and not twist.
otherlank Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 (edited) I received my 7.5 cm extension in 9 days and could not be happier. It works as advertised and flying with the Warthog is not only much easier on my wrist and shoulder, but my flying has become more precise as well. Edited May 23, 2014 by otherlank
1PL-Sahaj-1Esk Posted May 24, 2014 Author Posted May 24, 2014 (edited) Nice setup there otherlank ! Now it is time for me personally to switch the extensions. I have been flying on 7,5 cm for almost one year now and I think I am ready to go for 10 cm, certainly I will give it a try. S! Edited May 24, 2014 by 1PL-Sahaj-1Esk
III/JG11_Tiger Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Nice setup there otherlank ! Now it is time for me personally to switch the extensions. I have been flying on 7,5 cm for almost one year now and I think I am ready to go for 10 cm, certainly I will give it a try. S! For me the 10cm is just right, centre mounted it clears my legs well and is in the perfect position so that I get no arm stress, not sure as to the difference in accuracy compared to 7.5 but compared to no extension it is a huge improvement.
SCG_Tzigy Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 23 inches (58cm) from the center of the pitch joint to the highest point of the stick
Chephren Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) received my 7,5 cm Extension today, works great and fits perfect on the FSSB R3. I can fully recommend this Extension ;-) Edited May 28, 2014 by Chephren
Junowho Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I too am looking for both a 7.5 and a 10 extension for my Warthog. I sent a pm. Looking forward to heaing back as these sound like just what I need before I build my new setup. Thanks in advance.

MLmarluk Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I have intention to screw my Hog into the chair. Does somebody have suggestion about suitable extension length? I thought that 10 cm would be optimal length. Am I right? Btw, I sent PM also.
Koroze Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 So, I ordered the 10cm extension and here are my thoughts after some use: Firstly, it's fantastic, absolutely top quality machining and the ps2 extension cable while hand made is top quality and if not for the hand cut edge on the plastic reinforcement each end, I would have guessed it was a machine built, solid A+ for quality overall... There is a small but obvious precision bonus at the expense of throw increase. But here's the thing, you can adjust yourself to a throw increase, but precision is something you just can't improve without the extension. So in light of that, the extension definitely improves the warthog in my opinion ... what about the lengths? Well it's a personal choice no doubt but here are the conclusions I've come to (and my mate who will be getting the 10cm model agrees with): ** If you fly planes only, the 7.5cm is the way to go, it gives additional precision with minimal stick throw increase. ** If you fly helicopters only, the 15cm would seem to be ideal giving a more realistic feel for that aircraft type, although going beyond this would seem unwise. ** If you get into both sim types, the 10cm could be the happy middle ground 'jack of all trades' you're looking for. I have the 10cm, and I like it a lot ... but in saying that I fly planes only, so very soon I'll be ordering the 7.5cm and the 10cm extension will go to a mate who flies both planes and choppers, and has tested and loves the 10cm I currently have. Until then, he can wait because I'm not going back to a standard hog! I hope this information helps someone Thanks Sahaj for an excellent product. - Koroze Experience is the knowledge that enables you to recognise a mistake when you make it again.
Panzerlang Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I have the 10cm. I found it made the stick feel too loose so I fitted two rubber gear-stick boots (from a Ford) which have firmed it up perfectly.
[TWB]classypax Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Had an X-55 stick. Decided to pick up the warthog stick just so I could grab one of these. (money sent).
III/JG11_Tiger Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I have intention to screw my Hog into the chair. Does somebody have suggestion about suitable extension length? I thought that 10 cm would be optimal length. Am I right? Btw, I sent PM also. I have my Hog on a small sliding tray directly attached to the bottom of the seat and the 10cm gives me just the right amount of clearance over my legs and is also the right height so that I get no shoulder stress. I would sit in your seat and test where your arm reaches and make a quick measurement, for me the 7.5 would have been to short for my centre mount.
