Blakhart Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 (edited) Today I was checking how much people is on the WoL and I saw that:http://online.il2forever.com/ I remember when I started my adventure with virtual Sims... It was a nightmare even I had a lot of theoretical knowledge and some small skills from real aviation... I was training, training, training but when I thought I `m preety good on some servers there was always someone who was smashing me like a rag doll without an eye blink. I didnt knew how to go forward. What I`m doing wrong... But I knew they are just better than me. I had less than a year of online experience so it was obvious for me they have more skills. Thats all. By accident I started to train duels. I just saw a guy on HyperLobby waiting on slots for an adversary. ...and my pride and skills were crushed again... I was mad. Completly mad. That guy was just better. On the same plane with the same fuel. So on that day I knew I have to be better than him no matter how much effort it will cost. Since that day I spent probably few thousands of virtual flight hours on duels. Defeat after the defeat. Anger, hate. Another defeat. Victory, then 10 defeats. Frustration. From that point I salute to those old il2 veterans who was slashing me those days. EAF51/Tony_R Ojisan_Tuck They were better than me in every aspect. They had better gunnery, energy managment, situational awarness... Just everything. And they wasnt explaining me how da fook I`m loosing with them all the time... So I started to record tracks. Watch every fight, Observe what they are doing and then try to repeat the same. It was hard. Reaaaallly hard because some thing I could understand after 2-4 weeks and some I started to understand after a year or two!!!I`m not joking!!! But finally I started to be better at some points and finally wining. I never called them a cheaters. Never had even a small idea to call someone a cheater before a strong arguments. Why I said my story ?Because this is the only way to be a better virtual pilot. Practice. Practice. Practice. Not only a 1-3 hours per day in a good company when you can always count on someones help. Without increasing individual skills you cant have a good progress!!! This is a virtual ar combat. (Not an FPS or WarThunder arcade game!!!) To be good at this you need to have: - knowledge - skills - experience - good eye - reflex - good equipment and the most important things... Be intelligent and have a cold blood to make proper decisions in a short amount of time. In last 10 years I met a lot of very good virtual pilots. Some of them good rather in 1vs1 where you need to have amazing skills, some only in virtual wars where you need to be cold blooded killing machine. Most of them you can see on the top of the server stats with a very good K/D ration, with hundreds of airkills with a gunnery around 8-10%. And now I see some average random players calling them cheaters... Complaining about something which they really dont understand in 100%... Pathetic. Friendly advise for all low-skill witch hunters:1. Be better virtual pilots than you are. 2. Learn & practice more to understand the physics of the game. 3. Start to train duels and then you will see how really good you are plus its a best way to make a progress. p.s. And something about Mr.X. I remember when I started to fly on ATAG. Some of random-skill pilots started to think that I`m a Mr.X ( :D :D hahahah ) because local ATAG heroes started to fall down in flames. It was so funny to see all this frustration... :D I didnt knew this guy. We met on Wings of Liberty server and flew many missions. For all who try to find a cheat in his game: He is just very good. His SA is amazing. Visibility better than mine ( probably because of the hardware ). Offensive and defensive tactic on a high level. Plus he is thinking in game. ( not like some of you who chase the kill at all cost to the deck or the enemy base ) But he is not immortal like every other good pilot. He is making mistakes. Less than most of you but still making them. Before you start call him a cheater try to reach his level. Its possible. You just need to be motivated have a good teacher or read&practice a lot. TP_Jacko Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 (edited) I am not a witch hunter in any way and agree fully with this statement. 1. Be better virtual pilots than you are. 2. Learn & practice more to understand the physics of the game. 3. Start to train duels and then you will see how really good you are plus its a best way to make a progress. In my squad there is a a top % who are the real killers as in real life. Edited January 5, 2016 by TP_Jacko
Dakpilot Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 (edited) In my real life flying career I have been fortunate to fly with a lot of very skilled pilots, from real ex combat Spitfire pilots with 20,000+ hrs, Russian Design Bureau test pilots, Airline pilots with 35,000hrs of real flying (before computers ) and Jet fighter instructors with actual combat ( Mirage) experience One thing all these people had in common was an ability to make me notice my total inadequacy of pilot skill, where I would chase an ILS in bad weather they would just think and the needles would be centered and subtle power changes kept all in check, it was like they were flying with different equipment to me Experience (and a little skill) makes a BIG difference even with the same equipment, I was always humbled when flying with some of these pilots and took the opportunity to learn from the experience (even if it did feel some of them were cheating, because it looked so easy ) Flying in a sim has some of the same principles Cheers Dakpilot Edited January 5, 2016 by Dakpilot
Feathered_IV Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Some people seem to spend every waking moment on there. Practice makes perfect I guess. 1
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 (edited) -snip- My impression of you, by your actions and words, is that you're an extremely toxic individual in the MP community on your own without people having to create toxicity for you... Just sayin'. Nonetheless, I agree with this one. Edited January 5, 2016 by Space_Ghost 2

Monostripezebra Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Well, witchhunts are as old as multiplayer gaming, as is modifying files.. as is calling good players cheaters by less experienced or knowledgeable. But as well as good sportsmanship, technical sides should also be adressed.. sharing setup and options settings as to help people find the better means of spotting as welI as having technical exploits adressed.. it´s been a while since people have shown that one can switch Icons on where they should not be on.. and the like.. and everyone can record online tracks and see other players go straight at 9km distance (the icon max range) for the right dots. I may be wrong and there may very well exceptional players, but I doubt everyone telling different aircraft apart over large distances where they are just dots without error, does that with an educated guess on course and supposed intentions..
6./ZG26_Emil Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 On a server where 90% of the people fly badly it's not a big deal that someone gets a lot of kills especially if they're in a team...don't worry about the top 1% who can fly 5+ hours a day just get together in a group and have fun

Fidelity Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I think the accusations that are leveled against Mr.X are a bit far flung. A couple nights ago I snuck past Mr.X and his wingman in my PE-2 with a mere separation of 3 km. Wasn't even sure it was him until I checked the track, but I had a feeling it might be (His high altitude and a wingman close by are pretty characteristic of him). According to some people, he should have instantly bee-lined for me, but that is not what happened. Mr.X just has very good situational awareness. He's always looking somewhere new every few seconds. Most of his victims appear to never know they are being targeted until it to late. Looks to me like they should take note from their adversary.
