Getting a any kinda proffile on line is great thing and I hope many are uploaded for all types of hardware but if you have the time I find its always better in the long run to do it myself.

I also don't use any complete profile for the X55.

The madcatz software is not that great and I'm fed up to have random button presses when I do some alt+tab or other shortcuts for accessing teamspeak or other while in game.

Randomly loosing your canopy at 6k is never a good thing.

I just have the rotary 1 set to control the left/right command of the autolevel with the band setting and a script on two buttons to autofeather prop 1 or 2. The rest is mapped directly in the game to avoid problems.

I've tried to adapt my old Il-2 1946 profile with little success. Il-2 BoS reuses to recognise the pinkie switch, or the mouse hat as anything other than a mouse, with the result that many of my familiar commands are useless.

So I've now mapped what I need to the keyboard and simply use the X55 buttons to duplicate them - which means that at the moment I am only using Mode 1. Some time I'll get around to a complete profile rebuild I suppose, but am loath to get too familiar with a new system as I still fly 46 and RoF with the old one.

Really, no one has yet programmed the X-55 using:

M1 for takeoff and landing

M2 for during the flight

M3 I have no idea

Really no one did this?

I have seen a profile almost exactly like this. Search around the forum. I think M3 was for bombing. This person also had two profiles, one for german and one for russian.

That said, I have an X-55 and I don't use the software. It was too complicated and I just wanted to play so I put it off and told myself I would use it eventually.

Lately I've been running out of controls tho, but it just occurred to me, you should be able to implement your own modifier key (or two) and basically double (or triple) the controls without using the software. Maybe not the axes, but the toggles and buttons. I'm going to give it a shot...

Edit: Additionally, I wish the modifier dial just changed the button numbers so you could use it without the software. E.g. in M1 button #1 would be "button 101" and in M2 it would be "button 201" and so on. That would prevent the need to create some modifier like I described above.

It's crazy that a bunch of profiles for common joysticks aren't included as default. I just bought the game today and I'm looking for an X55 profile too.
