I'm searching for new stuff in BOM compared to BOS.

As far as I know BOM and BOS are two seperate products which are fully compatible. There will be new planes and a new scenery. Is that all? Why should I pay for a full game just for this? Are there any other enhancments? Will there be a true compaign?

I somehow prefer the model used for ROF, if it's just for adding planes and maps... but I did propably miss something.

With BoM you get almost exactly the same amount of content as you got with BoS, including campaign spanning some 5-6 months. Therefore they cost the same.

By buying BoM you also help fund the ongoing development of the sim as a whole, which benefit both BoM and BoS and have brought us things like new season maps, AI Ju 52, expanded campaign for BiS and drivable tanks free of charge.

Pretty good deal if you ask me.

Adding ten new aircraft and new map, ground units, scenery is cheaper in BoM method compared to RoF method (at release price)

While you do not get to pick and choose to buy individual A/C based on preference, this seemed not to be such a successful financial arrangement with RoF business model

All further developments that come with BoM are incorporated into Bos furthering/improving the 'whole' product/series

There will be a full campaign BoS style and incorporating more 'classic' missions, BoM will also be incorporated into PWCG career allowing for historical 1941-43

What sounds better?????

  1. You somehow prefer the model used for ROF but this means you need to wait 7 years after release to see a 50% or 75% off sale. For each fun more you need to spend $ to have more fun. Pay to Win sounds here good.
  2. With BoS and BoM you get the full package of fun! You need only 6 months to wait after release to get the first from many 50% or 75% off sale.

If you are not the one who support or like this game wait the 6 months after release and grab the game for 50% or 75% less.  I still not understand people who cry about the price and the content. For what are Steam Sales. Steam Sales create more money than the full price alone. 6 Months to wait where is the problem? You could start to cry if you need to wait 7 years to see the first sale.

BTW you should known that BoS have the newer planes. That means you will always fly the better one. The only point what the Devs made wrong is to release BoS first. Why? The Question why should someone grab BoM if there are older planes compared to BoS? With BoS you get more content for free but with BoM you get less content for your money.

The only Question you should ask to you if you will be fly the BoM planes yes or no. If yes, grab the game now or wait for the first off sale. If no, be happy with BoS enjoy more free content that you get thanks to BoM and wait for the next theatre that release after BoM. :salute:

In a sense, Its BoS 2. As in its a whole(complete) game. The high-price now is for the beta-testing of BoM planes.

New Planes,New Map and Probably more tanks.

Now the one question I have is for MP, Who gets to play with who, if you dont own both games?.

BoS will be the game where you get a lot free content

  • You can fly against AI controled BoM planes
  • BoS gets better thanks to BoM

BTW BoS did cost 99$ from the beginning. The price now for BoS + Steam Sales is a very cheap price for that content + improvements what you get for free thanks to BoM! You could start to cry if BoS and BoM where seperate games

BoM will be the game where you pay for what you want to have

  • 10 planes for $8 ( still cheap)
  • BoM Campaign
  • 1x BoM map

All fly MP together! If you have BoM you fly against people that have BoS or you fly against people who have BoM and BoS. MP is the location where we all meet together to have fun! :salute:

Depends on server settings really.

To play on a given server, the current mission has to feature both a map you can play on (otherwise you can't join the server) and a plane/tank that you own (else you can't spawn)

If you have only one of these games, here's how it's gonna work:

If you only have BoS:

You can fly all 10 BoS planes (+/- the premium planes) on the Stalingrad map (all seasons), Lapino map and Velikiye Luki map.

If you only own BoM:

You can fly all 10 BoM planes (+/- the premium ones) on the Moscow map (all seasons), Lapino and Velikiye Luki.

It's posible to close off a server entirely to people who don't own both games, for instance by having only BoM planes on the Stalingrad map.

For this reason, I have a hunch, that the 'free' maps like Lapino, Velikiye Luki and at some point the Murmansk map are going to be very popular online, simply because all players can fly on them, and it's propably going to be quite common to include a mix of BoS/BoM planes on most servers as well. Somewhere down the road, the devs might want to open the maps up for everyone, at least in MP.

With BoM you will get mannable field kitchen so you can cook for your buddies. The success of your mission will depend on how much onion, fat and canned beef you can fetch. You can use T34 to pillage the area :)

You might want to rethink buying the standard edition if you`re not into unlocking stuff. This means not only plane skins but really good stuff like pilot armor and additional armament. I`m doing jut that at the moment and even if the vanilla single player campaign is not the worst, unlocking everything for just two planes causes me to fly a considerable amount of hours offline.

Very true, but unlocking the most important things can be done in a very short space of time, enough to get a feel for the aircraft, however if you want that last 'Desert skin' you will have to put some more time into it...

If ''Premium" had been labelled "standard" and the cheaper version as "budget" it would have sounded a lot better, best to buy the 'Full' game straight off

The best way to look at this series is as if it is all one sim. That is like comparing Forgotten Battles to Pacific Fighters ... Yeah one does stuff the other doesn't.. but if you combine them you have one that does what both do.. which to me seems like a better deal...
