I I scooped up this $1500 yoke and throttles for super cheap. But it seems they've designed it to be proprietary to only non combat sims. So I've got to replace the electronics with another board that windows will see as a game controller, inside it's no different than another yoke. What do I need? Or maybe someone who's more up for the challenge wants to buy this stuff.

The old models of this Yoke work in serial (gameport) or parallel port... now obsolete.

Replace the "gut's" with a BU0836A or BU0836X or similar USB controller is very easy - require basic solder skills - and funny. Basicaly is this:

In that throttle base can be added many press or toggle switches. But 0836A handle up to 32.  :)

This is a USB version but I still can't get windows to recognise. Thanks! I'll get right on upgrading it with proper guts.

This is a review, apparently he had to DL software from Flyelite.ch to get it to work in FSX. It was not plug and play there either. He has some tips. You might save some work by investigate a little more. The throttle seems to be of a type that need console to work. or you need to modify it with a usb controller. I made a throttle of a real plane work in pc games. it is pretty easy

The throttle itself cost 275 $ + 48 $in a USB card

I interested in how you rigged the potentiometers for the throttle out of curiosity.  Their software does not enable it as a HID in windows, I can see the axis moving using their tools software but without be knowing how to program I don't think I'll be able to get it visible as a game controller short of Leo Bodnar card. Puzzles me why they do it this way.

Right now I am using sliders hooked with a old mecanoset. But I will build myself a pedestal and rig wires and sensors to get the right feel.. Things like this always going to be a WIP. There is alway adaptations to be made. Now I have moved so I just quickfixed for use. but I want it on a moeveable device on my left side. rather than a fixed posission in my right. It is a door that forced me to do it this way
