Monostripezebra Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 (edited) Just an observation or preliminary finding, but as I have just begun experimenting with BoS, and said experiments include planes physically getting in touch with other planes, I made the folowing discovery: In mid-air collisions, the gunners and airservice-personal seemingly die like the flies on the smallest interactions, while the pilots survive significantly more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CYQJtYdfhY video is just one of many, and for illustration purposes only. So far it seems to be a consistent occurencethrough various mid-air touches.. Note, this is not a complaint, just an observation. Edited December 25, 2015 by Dr_Zeebra
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Reported by a few people, it seems something is killing gunners as soon as the aircraft are listed as destroyed. Sounds like an X-File. 1

Monostripezebra Posted December 25, 2015 Author Posted December 25, 2015 They die of shame because they have failed the Fatherland. Following that logic, we can assume pilots simply know no shame... considering the average pilots ego, that seems a totally realistic modeling!

Y-29.Silky Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 I nosed my Pe-2 on landing and my top gunner died. Guess they don't have seat belts?
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 I'm OK with whimpy gunners. They have been far too hardy in a couple of AC here and most of them in '46. Relatively few gunners have armored stations. A wafer thin sheet of aluminum should not stop a .30 much less a 20-23mm round. Most gunners wouldn't do well in a crashing AC because they, precisely, do not have seatbelts. Here's your flexible mg, Anton, remember to duck and hold on!
216th_Peterla Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Yeap is a bug. They die as soon the engine is stopped or in case crash landing, wherever is hard or soft.
Monostripezebra Posted December 27, 2015 Author Posted December 27, 2015 Yeap is a bug. They die as soon the engine is stopped or in case crash landing, wherever is hard or soft. I noticed that, too.. I mean, I´m used to passenger complaints, but dying out of shame because the fuel ran out seems a little bit defeatism-ish. Relax, guys.. Don´t worry, I crash better then anyone I know! (so, who is nerdy enough to spot the moviequote here? ;=) )
