[Video] "The Pumas"

I've been planning to make a video for a while to honor the memory of Hungary's forgotten heroes: "The Pumas". Now it's finished, I hope you like it.

 

Over the blood stained fields of the Eastern Front, a handful of Hungarian pilots fought bravely, heavily outnumbered. They painted red puma heads on the nose of their trusty Messerschmitt Bf-109 fighters. People called them "The Pumas". After the war, they were imprisonned or executed by the communist regime, that deleted their names from the pages of history. So they became our  forgotten heroes. Their motto was:

 

"Courage is our leader, Luck is our wingman".

Comunist regime (like other regimes ) is not a person.

Comunist regime is a illness of primitive people leaded by primitive arrogant tyrants.

The music is "Aviators" by Helen Jane Long.

 

All crazy regimes require primitive people and a tyrant to fuel their hatred. This is what I admire in these pilots: they fought despite all odds, despite having no chance to win the war, and little chance to survive it, they knew primitive madness had taken over their country, yet they never gave up, fought for their families and friends until the end.

 

But let this thread not be about tyrants, but heroes

That brings back some memories. The last project I had finished for Il-2 1946 was a 101st 'Puma' Fighter Group campaign.
