II./JG27_Rich Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 Breaking Bad. An incredibly well done TV series. That's what I hear. I've never taken the time to check it out. Usually if I like something and it's well along I'll just buy the DVDs

Rjel Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 (edited) ST:TNG Star Trek - original series Enterprise - so much better than most think BSG - new version Quantum Leap Gunsmoke Bonanza The Big Valley The Rifleman Rawhide Police Story The Dick Van Dyke Show The Mary Tyler Moore Show Seinfeld Friends MASH The Red Green Show The Carol Burnett Show Combat Biography with Mike Wallace And two newer shows Sleepy Hollow Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. These are excellent series for any who hasn't had a chance to watch them. I loath anything that smacks of reality T.V. And nearly anything sitcom related series produced for ABC Television in the '70s. Edited November 16, 2013 by Rjel

Trident_109 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) talking of family guy i dont think satire nor irony cover the intro song seeing what the shows about: what would be the definition of the joke of the intro song? Lois: It seems today, That all you see, Is violence in movies, and sex on T.V. Peter: But where are those good old fashion values.... All: On which we used to rely?! http://youtu.be/4KGFTB-AJa0 I always thought Family Guy's opening was a take off/satire of All in the Family's opening, where Archie and Edith sing at the piano wondering where all the good old days went, despite they came from WW2 and Depression era USA. After thinking some more and seeing so many extended lists: TAXI Quantum Leap. When Sam goes to save his brother in Vietnam and ends up with the female news correspondent killed, I just sat there Gob Smacked when Sam finally looks at the pictures she took. St. Elsewhere Cheers First couple of years of Cosby. I really don't watch to much TV these days. I'll keep up with sports, watch The Mentalist and The Black List, but that's really about it.
