Request for additional Official Skins

There are many threads for additional planes, next theater, etc., but I don't remember seeing this request.

 

With the original BOS, there are 11 official skins included for each plane.  For each plane, some of the skins relate to other theaters.  What I would like to see is this.  The devs, working with known talented skinners, accept another 10 skins per plane that are historically and theater correct, and add these to the official skins seen by all.

 

I know there are 700+ skin packs that can be downloaded but those contain all sorts of skins that may not pertain, are of varying quality and are not seen by everyone.  I have ROF and remember the skin packs there and can imagine the devs want to stay away from that model.  That is why I suggest a smaller scale expansion of official skins.

 

I know skins are integrated into the campaigns.  Maybe more skins will help the award system.

 

I may be wrong but I think this approach would have a limited impact on dev resources.

The current skin method is definitely not good enough.  If I use a custom winter skin on a winter map, I show up as the summer default if someone doesn't have that skin.  At the very least we need to have a winter default skin for the winter maps.
