And the same is true in the mission planning & options screens.  In-game it goes back to around 60%, but otherwise its maxed at 100%, my fan goes into overdrive, the temperature shoots up & my computer sounds like its going to melt down.

I've tried VSync and FPS limiting but they don't make any difference.  It would be really nice if you could get this fixed as it really makes me reluctant to run the game.

I'm using a Sapphire R9 270X Toxic, which is an AMD Radeon R9 200 series running driver version 9.14.10.01001.

I found that turning off Antialiasing in the game's Graphics settings reduced GPU usage to 71%.  Not ideal obviously, as why should the hangar use an extra 30% with Antialiasing on?  But nevertheless its a temporary workaround.

Do you use any form of FPS limiting (built in FPS limiter or vsync)? If rendered scene is not CPU bound and there is no FPS limit or it is very high, such scene can easily put heavy load on VGA, because it is forced to render frame after frame without no significant delay in between. While in game, CPU has way more stuff to do before it can handle new frame to VGA, so VGA load goes down as it has to sit idle and wait more.

I've already answered your question...

Turning off anti-aliasing "fixed" the problem for me, so it doesn't seem like its a case of the game racing along & putting a heavy load on the GPU because it has nothing else to do. If that was the case, turning off AA would make no difference.

Having updated my drivers to 9.14.10.01162 Crimson 15.12, the GPU maxing problem is back - turning off AA no longer makes a difference. Its bad enough to keep me from playing BoS.
