No601_Prangster Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) I notice today that the Static objects I've added to airfields are indestructible. These are Block such as the static aircraft and truck that are normally destroy-able but now have become completely invulnerability. This effects all the missions I make in the mission builder but not the stock missions. I've had this bug happen before but I was able to cure it by re-installing, see my previous post on the same issue. This has also happened to some people in RoF: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/12255-graphics-models-and-maps/?p=242880 Unfortunately this time the re-install didn't cure the problem so my question is, is this a new bug with the latest patch and if so is it effecting anyone else? [DBS]Tx_Tip Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) Not having this bug. Statics such as trucks and planes are destructible here unless I forget to change the durability from 25000. So irregardless of what you set for the durability within the Blocks properties it is still indestructible? Edited December 19, 2015 by [DBS]Tx_Tip
DD_APHill Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Just tried using "Command: Damage" "Selected Object Menu" "Add On Damaged Event" Set Damage to "Complete" and it worked. Would be nice if one didn't have to do that but my mission are far simpler than most. [DBS]Tx_Tip Tx_Tip' timestamp='1450500465' post='315953'] unless I forget to change the durability from 25000 I tried setting the durability to 0 and it didn't work. What do you set the durability too? Higher than 25000 or lower than 25000? (I tried setting the durability to 0 and it didn't work).
[DBS]Tx_Tip Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) Have been using 25000 as the highest setting. I use 500 for the trucks and planes and vary Fuel, Ammo, building blocks depending on whether I want to make it easier or harder to destroy. For instance I find 16000 for the GSM fuel blocks work well. Can be destroyed but takes accurate strikes. They are all different. Just have to try and test them. I believe some are hard-coded such as Bridges so no matter what you set these to, they go down rather easy such as a pontoon bridge . But also in my opinion some of them go down a bit too easy no matter what I change within the settings. Especially the large trestle bridges. One thing else I do for the statics within a group such as around an airfield. I go ahead and create an entity for them and change it to Russian or German as needed. <Save> then go ahead and delete the entity designation. They will maintain that designation. So no friendly fire message if you have that option on your server. Can't remember if that is default in SP. Although they are very useful in creating a target rich environment and frankly fun to destroy. Basically no reason to have whatever number of static blocks as entities taking up what could be used for other things. Unless you wish to have them as event reportable targets. *Just for the record I don't believe that good working missions are simple using this ME. If you have got one working and are happy with it. Then consider yourself a Mission Designer. And good luck to you. ****Edited to reflect I use 16000 for the GSM fuel blocks not 6000. Tip Edited January 1, 2016 by [DBS]Tx_Tip
DD_APHill Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Thanks [DBS]Tx_Tip, This gives me more to experiment with. I find the experimenting quite fun although sometimes frustrating.
TP_Jacko Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Has anyone now perfected the settings for durability and can recommend a setting for various block types.
coconut Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 I'm using 15000 for dugouts and 10000 for barracks. Dugouts then require a precise SC100 hit, and barracks can be killed with precise single SC50s. 1
Sim Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 I would just like to add: if you set durability value to 2000 or above - that block won't be destroyable with bullets and shrapnel (only direct hits with bombs). So for static trucks and the like - set durability to 1500 or less.
Habu Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 I would just like to add: if you set durability value to 2000 or above - that block won't be destroyable with bullets and shrapnel (only direct hits with bombs). But yes, you can't destroy it in one attack.
Sim Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 Wrong. You can detroy the block, but you have to do many straffe on it to destroy it which could take many time. But yes, you can't destroy it in one attack. No Habu, the block will be completely indestructible to machine gun fire if you set it to 2000+ durability. You can test it yourself in game: 1. Add "static_opel" truck block and set durability to 2000. 2. Add player Ju 87 plane nearby on the ground. 3. Launch mission and switch to Ju 87 gunner and try to destroy the block. Now repeat the same but with 1500 durability.
Habu Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 (edited) If it's the case, it changed, because for one mission, we ran many test with friends, and we can destroy Fuel block with 3000 Hp if i remember, but we have to do many straffe. I don't talk with gunner, but with MG and canon as we do in mission as pilot. I will have a look if i kept my test mission. Edited April 23, 2017 by Habu
