BoM yak's and LaGG's

Although outnumbered by MiG 3 and I-16 in use at the "Battle of Moscow" there were still a considerable number of Yak-1's and LaGG 3's present (95/75?)

Which models/series would have been present?  as I understand they were the most up to date rushed in for the Moscow Air Defence at the time

I understand they would have been equipped with the earlier engines and probably were heavier than the later 1942 models we have for BoS?

But does anyone have any info on what they were

I think Devs should make a plane pack with other models of current planes available.

Just like you said, small changes on engines and 3D model quick to produce and fill plane set gaps.

I would go for a 110G2 for Stalingrad campaign. Minor changes on engine 3D model and stuka gunner MGs. New plane available :)

This is high on my wishlist as well, though I think they should wait until after the next installment.

Although not intended as a request thread, I think an Early/late model pack for aircraft which need very small changes needed for 3D and performance/FM would be a good idea for those who enjoy the more historical side of things

Making it an independent "bonus pack" option from BoS/BoM would stop complaints from those that are not interested in purchasing

However if popular then people would want them integrated into campaign etc...more work with little reward

As said maybe something to keep 3D artists etc. busy for a bit after BoM is finished  ;)

Yes I would like an early five-gun LaGG.

It's not really that easy to make new (or rather older) versions of the BoM aircraft. For the LaGG-3 in particular it would require extensive changes to the 3D model, cockpit, FM (very different weight distribution) and modeling a different engine.

Of course, it's not the same as making a new aircraft from scratch, but it still involves a lot of man hours.

Still want the devs to do it though. ;)

Make a couple of them (easy ones to produce) for each side and everyone will be happy :)

I dont mind as long as they are free.

Or just a RoF model where you can get them individually if you want. Id probably skip them if they are paid.

They say it takes 6 weeks to build a plane from scratch.  I wonder how long on average it takes to make a variant.

Not gonna happen, and neither should it. We already got the Ju52, a bunch of new maps, extended campaign and drivable tanks free of charge (things we were never promised to begin with) How much more do you want?

Except those guys, who will then complain, that they should've spend the time on completely new planes instead. And whatever price they would ask for such a variant pack, i guess it will be too high for many people on the forums, for just a few variants.

What i think they should do however, is making sure that the "premium planes" fit better into the specific battle, especially when you can't mix and match all avaliable packages (buying only BoM premium to supplement BoS for instance). As much as i like flying the P-40, when i know it shouldn't really be in the BoM (that variant at least), it feels a bit weird. And the more BoM planes get added, the more i look for alternatives. Same with the Fw 190 in BoS and especially the Mc.202, which just feels completely out of place.

Or they should instead scrap the idea of "premium planes" and just release these as generic plane-pair packs, completely stand-alone of the main packages. Then the odd variant or exotic plane could be added from time to time.

But of course, at least up to 1942, the Soviets just had a bigger variety of planes, especially fighters, and variants, which differed a lot.

One "independent aircraft pair" that would work well and could plug into either BoS or BoM is the IAR80 and the Yak-7.

There could be early series 4-11 for LaGG-3.With interesting mix of weapon loadouts.Equipped with M105P engine. Some early Yak series with same engine could be done a bit easier,as the weapons loadout was the same as Yak we have now.But I have no idea how difficult that would be from programming point of view.I guess 3D model changes would be of minor issue.

I would like to see 1-3 seria, with retractable tailwheel and 5 guns.
