Great post, But here is a problem I am having. Just got Track IR5 today and everything works great, until I start to taxi. I can sit on the ground and look everywhere to my heart's content, but as soon as I start to move, I lose all x and y axis movement. I can still lean left right back and forth and up and down, but it won't let me turn my head. Everything is updated, it is brand new, and I searched the internet everywhere and can't find the problem. Does anybody have any ideas? I might also post this in another section that could be more fitting and on Reddit.

same here your tutorial does not go over how to connect track-ir to the game. How is this done.

You do need to start track IR before you launch il2. Also if the game crashes you ned to restarttrack KR

This is a really good run down of things. Kudos for putting it together!

if your track ir is on, track ir will detect the game is running, when you launch the game.

Hi guys,

i am just starting with BOS...finally  ... after having bought the premium version so early on... but already have a problem.. i was tinkering with settings and made a mistake.. i was setting the centered view to a custom view (with F10) while having track - IR running (yeah, i found the warning not to do that in the manual a bit later).. i was doing that on the 109 F4... now i have an slightly off angles centered view on the F4..., whatever i do i dont get a normal centered view back on this plane... with other words...how do i reset or eliminate that custom view ? I would appreciate some help...

pause TIR, reset view with mouse, home, end, insert, pgup, pgdwn and del keys, press F10 and unpause TIR.

thank you Bando... but i wanted to kind of really get back the normal/standard/default view... like that i just get an other custom view with maybe slightly irregular angles and an unclear center..i can do it by eye measurement, but neurotic as i am i wanted a really clear "zero" position..... but its a workaround of course...

Revert controls to default... and remap F10 function for Ctrl+Alt+F10... for obvious reasons.

You can delete your snap view and it will reload the default. Here is how:

Browse to the "snapviews" directory of the game, for example, mine is at: F:\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\LuaScripts\snapviews

Delete the file for the aircraft you want to reset to default. In your situation, this would be the file: bf109f4.svc

If you want piece of mind, you can find the default snap view in the folder "defaults" and copy it to this directory you just deleted the file from. It should auto-write it though.

Fire up the game and it will be zeroed.

Great video thanks! Really helped explain a lot of setup stuff.

I use my x52 pro thumb slider for pilot zoom as well, but mine is so squirrely still. Even with a lot of deadzones and a curve. I guess I'll keep having to fool around with it to get it just right, did you have the same issues setting yours up?

This sim is an absolute pita to get going with keymappings etc.

Wish they brought out a profile for each hotas in game then we can have fun flying.

I'm still grounded because I can't read manuals ,I just get so anxious my mind doesn't take it in so I learn by the seat of my pants.

Anyone have a CH hotas profile?

I use track ir 5 also.
