Cannot look "up" with TrackIR

I mentioned this in a different thread but I thought I'd start a new topic on it.

I cannot figure out how to solve this:
While I pan the view with my TrackIR, I can't look up into the sky, instead, the Game forces my head back in an awkward angle. When I center my head again looking out the windshield, the virtual head is offset upward.
The three pictures attached show the sequence
1. Maximum angle I can look up

2. awkward snap view

3. Offset head.

When I switch to Alt+F1, I can look around just fine, only that I can't move the head and can't zoom anymore.

Same happens to me, although I can go almost 90º in vertical, when I´m around 75-80º, it stops and starts angling to a side. It never allows me 90-100º.

I have this exact same problem, using FTNoIR With a Trackclip pro. Does not happen in other games, and also FTNoIR keeps on tracking fine. I.e. CloD does not have this problem, nor DCS.  Surely a BoS related problem..

mouslook can look all the way up just fine btw.

Ive tried editing curves, deadzones, etcetc, all to no avail.

why don't you take a screenshot of your track ir or hat clip mirror response in the window and show us what you have?

most of the time this issue is because you're to close to the camera. and or its not in the correct place it should be to pick up your reflector or the ir leds?

I'll too show one when I'm home, but it's not the problem for sure. Same place, same distance. You just start one game and it works. Starts IL2 and it behaves as stated.

Somehow the game is avoiding the 90 degrees up for track IR. There is a small ciscle where it's not letting you look at.

once again this is exactly what i'm experiencing, so it pretty much confirms its BoS related. other games work fine, bos keeps limiting up pitch TiR at about 75 degrees. all other stuff is fine, down, left, right, etc, just this upview "limit"

I have a similar problem where the view is "off center" by quite a margin when track IR is centered, I know

there is a fix for this but can't find it with "search".

Has anyone found a solution to this issue? I am finding it frustrating not being able to follow other aircraft in combat.

I'm sorry to revive this old thread, but did anybody find a fix?

I have tried adjusting the values in the Track IR software, but it doesn't seem to change anything in the game. I still can't look up 90 degrees and it's driving me crazy. It works perfectly well in every other game.

I just started playing this game and this is a major buzz kill..

I dont understand why people will use profiles that limit the last 2 points of the track.

If you use all the points in a upward arc you will be using all of the tir tracking ability, dropping the last 2 points back to slightly above zero makes those 2 point almost to ZERO movement!

You can compress or expand  the sides to get a faster or slower tracking, but this way you are using all of the tir motion and tracking ability.

Adjust smoothing and speed in the sliders to your desired comfort.

here is a screen of mine, I have never had any motion or limited views with my profile.

I use a small dead zone in all axes, makes it easy to center and return to center

I don't understand that either. This is the first time I've seen anyone have it set up like that.  I've tried adjusting the curves multiple ways, and I never notice any change to how it behave when I open the game.

This is just your yaw axis, pitch is the one I'm having trouble with. Are all your axes set up with a similar curve?

Are you sure the game use the right profile, the one you have adjust. You could create a new profile or save one which you have been editing with a new name and point the game to use that. If it still ain't work, then game may not knowing what profile you want to use with it.

Or you could download Requiem's profile for IL and use that as a base.

All my axes are set the same except my Y

After you build a custom axis and profile you name and save it, then tick the custom axe and set it to exclusive

I was under the impression that whichever profile you have selected, before opening the game, is the one that gets used...

So, a couple dumb questions: what does checking exclusive do? and why does your graph have two lines, one them green, and two extra dots?
My graph only has 1 line, yellow, with 6 dots on it...

I realized the 2 lines happen when you change the speed slider. But I still don't understand why you have two more dots to plot on the curve than I do.

So the 2 dots on the bottom are the first points that you can adjust, They are my dead zone. putting them to zero and spacing they to the side of the starting dot give's me the dead zone I like (aka no movement of the view while in that zone)so after I start TIR and get my head centered I press my center key to get my view centered in the game.

From looking at your profile it looks like you may have a couple of dots real close or over lapping each other.

The green line is the track of the profile, the orange will be the actual speed and distance movement in game

Exclusive, when checked will load that profile for all games played that support TIR. it will be over riding any profile that was is in the software that would be loaded when the game EXE is detected.

How are you looking at my profile?

On mine, the first point is a single dot that only moves verticality on the center line. After that one, I have only 5 more points that can be adjusted horizontally and vertically.

I will say this, I played the game last night, after adjusting the curves to look similar to yours, and it seemed to fix my problem.

I am finally able to have full range of view, specifically straight up.

Thanks for helping me figure it out!

I

Bearcills
I also have a single dot on the zero line in the center, my next dot on both sides is also in the zero line, that is how you create a dead zone in the center, as you move up and out you get movement in the software and game.

Thanks for helping me figure it out!

Yep no problem ?
