Subject of interrest for Foobar and maybe others

Hi Foobar.

 

  Since you have such an interrest in trains I thought I would show you this. The man second from the right is my Grandfather and this is what they called a 2800 passenger engine as far as I know. He took King George from Rigina to Broadview Saskatchewan in 1948 in think with this engine, that's why the crown is on the front. This engine is now reffered to as a Royal Hudson in Canada and was used in BC as a tourist atraction that took trips daily down on the coast near Vancouver up until the 90s I think. Now I think it's in storage.

Sorry the year was 1939 and this engine is probable 2862 and the one running today is 2860. So the engine in the picture was most likely scrapped.
