I've played Bos/BoM from the beginning using a Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog (with T.A.R.G.E.T. software profiles); I've mapped the  command for MG's, all weapons and cannon on TG1, TG2 and button S2, and all was fine, without any problems, until now.

After the last release, those buttons don't longer work .. if I press the trigger, the MG's shot only 2 or 3 shells, then stopped, so I have to press again.. same result, 2 or 3 shells then nothing.

Same thing with the button S2... to shoot continously I have to press fast 4/5 times... really frustrating!  :(

In DCS the triggers and buttons work as expected, so it's must be an issue of BoS/BoM... anyone with similar experiences? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance  ;)

Some times I think this is lag in the server , I have irregularities with my buttons and I think lag in this game interfere with pushed buttons

Thx, LuseKofte, but it's not my case... the strange behavior of trigger/buttons (note: only those were I've mapped the weapons, all other buttons are ok) is constant, and even offline in quick mission... :(

Even another mate of my group have the same issue

I also have the Warthog, but none of the problems you describe.

Firing is just as normal as ever.

I realise it does nothing to help you, but it may narrow down the search.

Test mapping the buttons direct in game controls, without use the mapping software.

The game have issues with external keypress if are used modifiers (Alt, Ctrl...) is need use pause between the keys, but as MG and cannon use simple keypress...

I think there is a problem using the target software together with BOS . you need to setup buttons directly in BOS interface as Sokol here sys

There was an issue  when using a modifier button along with a another button press, ie say using the paddle as a modifier, holding the paddle and then pressing a button, the game would not recognize it as it saw them being depressed at the same time.

I got around that using the TARGET scripting to put a small delay between the modifier being pressed and held and the button press.

But seems like I saw in one of the updates where they resolved that issue - or I may be remembering wrong or even dreamed that lol.

To the OP, sounds like a recent update caused it to start acting this way for you where it was not, might want to go in and re-assign or clean out those specific control assignments to make sure no conflicts there. Or just assign those two or three problematic assignments directly in the game rather than in TARGET.

Yea, I know the issue with TARGET (and I had to remap my flaps to "Q" instead "Lshft+F", cause not working.. ), and this could be the case for "RAlt+Space", but the command "space" should be functional...

And I tried to map the button directly in game, but 1: if using TARGET(and I wont use it, because I need the pinkie shift button  ;) ) You cant' map the button directly in game (or, at least, I can't be able to do so), and 2) mapping the buttons, directly in game not allow to map the second stage trigger, because the game recognize only the first stage...

Anyway, today is sunday, and I have a lot of time to make tests, maybe assigning different keys for weapons...

Thanks guys  ;)

Interesting because I use Target and only occasionally do I have problems with modifiers on the keystrokes either shifted, unshifted or using the separate modes available.

Now and again a command won't work as planned so either a delay (easy to do in Target) or separate out the modifier, i.e. mod, key, mod off sort of thing.

You don't have to use the pinkie key as shift function, any button on a hat or stick can be used, its your choice

I think Target is pretty good and 95% of the way there, however I agree its got some VERY annoying quirks that I hate, that said overall I would far rather have it than not have it.

Solved!

It was the issue with the modifiers... the strange thing is that this issue is not for all the commands.. .i.e., I had to remap the command for flaps (Lshift + F), but not for weapons (LAlt+ space, and RAlt+ space), until now.

Maybe the last patch, with the choice between Joystick or mouse, or, more probably, with the reassignement of weapons in Group 1 and Group 2, made some differences...

By the way, I remapped Group 1 to KP1 and Group 2 to KP2, and now all is working fine...  :)

Thx Ventus,  the pinkie button is my favorite choice, by the time of Cougar!  ;)

mapping the buttons, directly in game not allow to map the second stage trigger, because the game recognize only the first stage...

Just for reference. Is easy.

In old il-2 I did in this way, select MG  box press the first stage and HOLD, select the cannon box an press the second stage.

Don't know if this work in BoS - as this have his "peculiarities" in commands, may the game expect release one button to set annother... (I don't have 2 stage trigger anymore, separated buttons is more convenient for WWII MG an cannon, as allow fire one or other independently), so:

Assign the trigger first stage for MG and save, leave the game and:

Open ...IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad\data\input\current.actions file. (is good idea use Notepad++).

Find cannon_fire, then replacing the ","  with joyXbY (the X and Y may vary on different computers, so look how are set for MG, add 1 in button number)

machineguns_fire,                             joy0b1                                        0| // Fire weapon group 1
cannons_fire,                                 ,                                             0| // Fire weapon group 2 <<<<< change the "," to:
cannons_fire,                                 joy0b2                                        0| // Fire weapon group 2

Save and... fire. :)

I do in this way to assign the T-Rudder virtual buttons 1 and 3 for right/left wheel brakes in BoS.
