It's not real box art, as in it won't be a real box - at least that particular one won't be.

This is not official box art. It's just a graphic to give them impression of a product ready for sale. As you can see on the box it says Digital Edition.

 

There has been no formal decision on whether or not there will be a physical boxed version yet.

Old IL-2 had a big manual and one of those big boxes. Only problem the print in the manual was light gray on white paper. What was that about? You needed yellow tinted safety glasses to read it! There was a really cool girl who worked in the Eletronics Boutique while IL-2 was coming out 2001-2004 she was working there. If people were willing to listen she'd always try to push IL-2 over CFS3. We both chuckled at the cover of Pacific Fighters because the Zero wins the fight. I think it's the only cover in North America where the enemy gets the win. I wonder where Jen is now? She was a good one

Problem is people go to the new front page, see the premium edition price and think the standard release box will cost 95usd. There was at least one poster in another thread who thought that. Then, you know, internet word of mouth... So yes, a silver edition box on the front page would be useful to avoid that. (People just look at the pictures.)
