Okay guys so I've had this game a while now and I thought I'd try one last time to get my trigger to work. It won't, no matter how many times I bind the key! Please I am begging for help. I have been wanting to kill some B-29's with my Ho-229.

Maybe check whether the config file is not read only. Or the trigger is whacked...

well, could be a lot of things.

try other planes, + make sure you are assigning the right controls

weapon 1 - machine guns (most of the times)

weapon 2 - cannons ( most of the times)

weapon 1+2 - all you have

Or the plane dont have ammo...

If you're using the Go-229, it only has cannons, not MGs. Maybe you're just using the wrong button :)

I tried all of my buttons and nothing happened. I got the guns to fire on the Ta-183 and the Bf-109K-4 but when I start a new mission they wont work and the key bind is still the same. I'll post up an image of my configuration. I do have one dumb question, I assigned the 'Fire' command to my trigger as well. Is that a problem?

Yeah, the 'Fire' control is for gunners, not the pilot.

You could always go to your control panel/game controllers and look for the calibration tab to test your trigger button. There, every time you push the trigger an indicator would show that it's sending the signal at least. Just to rule out your stick as the problem or not.

This is a biggie in W7 because it defaukts to read only and in some cases you cannot change it so if you change a few assignments and you find that they only work while you are engaged in your current session, once you exit and start a new session the settings revert to their previous config that is the case.

I got it working now. I did try to use the HSFX 7.0 updater form my current HSFX 6.0 but nothing changed. It was supposed to add a bunch of new planes but it didn't.

Are there any skinning tutorials and if there are how to I get them in the game?

Auto updater for HSFX 6 does not work if you want to update to 7.0 or higher.

Skins are easy to put in your game. Just download any skin you want and place it in corresponding aircraft type folder in Il2-1946/ Paintschemes/Skins

Some links for you, judged by your request:

HSFX 6.0 to 7.0 update http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=ForumsPro&file=viewtopic&t=17530 make sure to keep your stock game version on 4.12.1 with finishing this update and proceed to the next step

HSFX 7.0 to 7.01 update: download JSGME AUTOUPDATER ( dropbox link www.242sqn.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3309 ) you may want to back up your conf.ini at this stage ( reported by some users )

Open your main game folder, open JSGME.EXE and remove all activated mods.

Run the updater. When finished, paste your original conf.ini file back to main game folder to avoid total break of your game. Ovewrite new conf.ini with it.

Open JSGME.EXE and reactivate all mods of yours. This update automatically updates your game from 4.12.1 to 4.12.2 also.

If you're interested in making own skins, vsisit this huge database http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=ForumsPro&file=viewforum&f=23

If you seek for skins submitted by community, see any of those:

http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=downloads2

http://www.cptfarrels.com/

http://www.axis-and-allies-paintworks.com/download.php?list.5

http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/board,99.0.html

Also, important piece of info is to change your game resolution not via the game settings screen, but by aaplying changes manually using your conf.ini file.

If you need help with that, let me know.
