Rshft + Minus/Rshft + Equals don't work for the RPM control

I'm trying mission Taxi and take off with the Yak-1.  I'm following the Air Combat Tutorials by Requiem for the Yak-1 Familiarisation.  When trying to take off I'm trying to use the RPM control with the default key binding Rshft + Minus/Rshft + Equals but that doesn't work.  Minus and Equals works fine for throttle control but it seems like a key combination doesn't want to work.  I have the same problem with Engines Mixture Control (Ralt + Minus/Ralt + Equals).

You have to be in expert mode for those to work. In normal mode they are set to "auto".
